the great cider decider

November 26 2016

yes, thats right, not beer, not wine, but cider. do you enjoy it? prefer it sweet? dry? natural and cloudy? we discovered our favorite at our visit to the araluen avocado festival last year The Naked Apple - Cloudy Apple Cider, simply delicious, 100% natural, and only 4.5 alcohol we do enjoy visiting cideries also, with a notable one out in the hills being the Core Cider House. Still yet to visit the Michael Brothers Funk Cider near the Swan Valley. also, any favorite cider flavours/combinations? we found that a shot of good Sloe Gin in the cider makes for quite the unique treat.

...it sweet. Mixed with white wine is nice, for when I'm getting a little tired of the bitterness of beer. And I prefer alcoholic ginger beer even more.

Too much sugar and my first drunk was cider. Never again. - Posted from rhpmobile

Apparently I'm the very old days, if the cider was slow to begin to ferment, the cider makers would drop a dead donkey or dog in the vat. Probably, that's why Scrumpy is so cloudy. 😜 It's actually true!! Cheers 🍻 Andy - Posted from rhpmobile

At the start of the year I went to the cider and pork festival near lilydale, it was a lot of fun and the cider was amazing, I lost count on the amount I had, but the red delicious one was amazing. I like a low carb one if possible

Yes its true, they did that back in the UK. But I heard it was a stillborn lamb. Not a big cider fan but I like a pear cider with ice on a hot day. Much prefer an ice cold Mango beer

Always the last thing in the bottom of the esky after a big night. Actually modern ciders have come a long way in blowing away the old srongbow stereotypes. Pear cider is delicious, always a dry cider for me, thanks for the tip on the Swan Valley cidery, will check that out. (On my way to Feral) 😝

I had Bulmers in the UK eons ago before cider became the greatest Aussie hipster beverage of all time. Of all time! Now that the hype is gone, it's good to enjoy quality cider for what it is. Some are good. Some not so. I don't like the really sweet stuff so the cloudy apple types appeal to me the most. I don't mind a squeeze of lime in cider :)

Cider is a lovely drink 🍹 but mix it at your peril! Cider and Blackcurrant is popular, and the old Snakebite which is cider and lager beer 🍻 or Guinness and cider, which is called Black Velvet. Stay with cider, but should it run out, avoid changing to beer 🍻 or Scotch otherwise, it will become Lunatic Soup, and you will be doing the dead-fly on the floor, unable to find your way home 🏡 or even walk there!! Don't say I didn't warn you!! Andy - Posted from rhpmobile

Im a wine drinker generally and mr is a beer man, but lately we have just had cider in the house as we both enjoy it. Recently started buying pure blonde cider which I enjoy and find really easy to drink. Plus it's 60% less sugar so it must be good for me right...... 😉 - Posted from rhpmobile

I'm with you and I don't like beer. But have become a Somersby convert this year. The usual apple or pear cider has been a regular but the blackberry - yum! The only thing is I can down one in two minutes so I have to be careful. I don't drink very often but a cider on a nice hot day is delicious. And I don't like ciders with a beer taste or smell either.

Poke - You should try The Cidery in Nannup, their Sweet Rosie is to die for... I was at Core the other week and tried their new blends, they are amazing. You ladies would love the Coregasm - Berry and Lime. They also have a Sparkling Ginger Beer for you Kool and a peaceCore - which is their Sparkling Pear
