  Definition1:Cheat - act of deceiving. no one likes to be decieved. Definition2: To violate rules dishonestly. So it depends on the rules of engagement. Trusting the intent of 'friendly chat' in the scenario you mentioned. What ever is agreed upon and acceptable within the union cannot be cheating.
