I don't like being whistled at, for the simple reason that I am not a farm dog. MsK x

Like the other thread , I find it flattering - but not if accompanied by words , approach , or flicking tongue action :) ..............love a nice low whistle and a smile as I walk past a man :)

No thanks Mind you, I have some male friends who if they see me from afar, will wolf whistle to get my attention all in the name of fun - that's fine.Strangers though will end up with the "I'm not impressed, grow up sunshine" glare

but there's definitely a certain type who engage in this practice, specially when surrounded by their mates.. I think most guys these days know its inappropriate and know better..I find when I give a smile' I usually get one in return.. however' I do whistle ON THE INSIDE sometimes.. not gunna give too much away... lol..

Quoting 'Jay_Me' I think most guys these days know its inappropriate and know better.. Please explain how it is inappropriate. A public display of a little flirty action? Well i never My belief is if you are a confident person then you take it as a compliment. Some things in life i will never understand.

Not saying it's something not to be enjoyed.. but with the sexual harrasment laws being what they are most guys are aware and think twice before taking the chance. Remember the days when a man would stand for a lady to sit, help if she was battling a pram with stairs, pull herchair at dinner, open a door, etc etc. ? Well ever since females jacked up because they felt less independant ' the rules changed forever. These days ' it's a smile on the outside and whistle on the inside, mind you ' sometimes one will slip out when the guards down. ?

...whistled at Monica Lewinsky who crawled in to the Oval Office on all fours quite regularly.Considering that he was married to Hilary, it's a miracle that he didn't jump out of his car and beg passerby sweaty women wearing tight spandex jogging outfits. The Secret Service doubtless saved the office a lot of...embarrassment.

but the only real point of political correctness is the utter joy of shredding it. Unless the whistler is a creep, might as well take it as a compliment. Someone else replied that whistling is what you do to get a farm dog's attention - has anyone else noticed that if the two parts of a wolf whistle are reversed, you get that much more work-a-day 'Oi! Over here!' whistle?

Keep em comming boys and men walking up to me in the street and saying   You are one fine woman...usa men do that a lot   or just saying what is in their head with the exception of yesterday   at the gas station three guys in a car next door one unit, with a tooth gone in the front yells out to me   Hey luv how about a quick fuck? I shit you Not   I said, while holding the gas nozel and resisting the urge to turn it on him a light a match said   Hoeney I only do long , hot sensual, all day sex and if I wanted that it would sure as hell not be with a quick fuck like you... his mates cracked up and he got all sheepish and got back in the car!

Done correctly it is a compliment and one that sadly doesnt happen too often these days for fear of retribution from the feminatzi crowd (in my opinion)As others have said it needs to be done with a bit of style, no cat calls, vulgar gestures etcI actually was lucky enough a few weeks ago to have a guy wolf whistle at me from a car on my way back to the office from lunch and it really perked my day

What's the difference between a wolf whistle and a cat call? I thought they were the same thing? Anyway, generally not a huge fan.

I never think it's for me and keep my eyes to the ground. Whistling is an annoying sound in general. Same goes for car honks. All they do is irritate me slightly.
