Pubic hair back in Fashion

February 08 2016

Don’t know if this topic has been discussed lately but I read in People magazine the other day that pubic hairs are coming back into fashion and they where doing photo spreads of women with pubes.I hope this is not the case as I think it is much sexier smooth and is much nicer when giving oral and this is the view of most of my mates also except one and he likes a little bit of fluff so I just wanted to see other peoples views on this.

I havent had any for so long, I cant imagine growing it back, or how it would feel.So I doubt I would conform if it was back in fashion. Probably be all grey and wirey. Stab an eye out.Lol.

it is "back in fashion" because they've completely exhausted the well of articles about waxing it off... so now they have to write articles about how pubic hair is... so that they can write about it being on the way out. Bikinis are getting smaller and smaller, so I doubt bush hanging out is going to be 'in'.

I also like mine smooth and clean-shaven. It just feels sexier and turns me on when my fingers 'accidentally' (😏) brush over my puffy lips, I get the sudden urge to rub one out 😅 - Posted from rhpmobile

Body hair is natural. I like some body hair on a guy and I have a small "landing strip" Completely bald I feel like a little girl... If a guy told me to wax it all off Id tell him where to go. It seems that completely smooth is the preference but Id rather have some hair neatly trimmed around a nice cock than it looking like a freshly skinned rabbit. Again, its personal preference. But give me a guy with some hair anytime

Quoting 'Summer_solstice' If full bushes were to replace those silly Hipster beards, then bring them back! I think you may have made an important discovery. The proliferation of long bushy beards is a subconcious desire for the return of pubic hair.Personally I like pubes whether its a "landing strip", a nice neat little "map of tassie" or a full blown "welcome mat". However my attraction to pussy is such then I also totally enjoy a bald one, and it does make oral a little easier. That said a full bush has never inhibited my need to snuffle around down there and check out the lay of the land. I guess my preferred option is bush with bare pussy lips ( I actually shave my cock and balls while retaining my pubes) because then you have the best of both worlds, a hair free target for a full on meal or nice patch to play in and snuffle around in enjoying the wonderful furry feel and aromas .

Freshly skinned rabbit - never heard of it being referred to that way but now it's painted an unsavoury mental image 😉 I've always hated it on me and intend on having it lasered to death! Although I'm on the fence about keeping a little landing strip because it's quite nice. As far as fashion goes - my vag will never be strutting its stuff down the catwalk or gracing the cover of Vogue anytime soon so I think I'm pretty confident with keeping it the way I want it. And I somehow don't think the masses will be rushing out to buy hair growth serum for the sake of being "in"

A comma (or the omission of one) can make a difference 😉 I think 2tryU was trying to say, "No, hair is not cool...."? What I believe is not cool is putting people down - hair or no hair, it's a choice. Personal hygiene is a whole different subject. I don't want to be flossing my teeth while I go down on someone hence my preference for my play dates to be trimmed, at least 😛 - Posted from rhpmobile

After reading what everyone had to say I'd have to say Hellenheels was closest to the way I feel. I don't mind a totally bald pussy to feast on , but I personally prefer a little hair rather than none. For me it's a visual thing. Just sighting a neat tassie will get me horny rather than that little girl look. A neatly trimmed landing strip always yells come and get me. For me. Trimmed shaped with clean shaved balls..

I like a full bush but it does depend on the body type a bit. Some gals look good with none, some look good with a landing strip and others look good with a bush.To me, larger women look better with a bit of bush.Like seeing a women with a larger rear laying on her side with one knee up and the full bush sticking out the back, that gets me hot.I just wanna push that cheek back and dive in it. Skinny model type bodies look good with none, to me anyway.A full bush on a very thin girl look a little ... out of proportion. Ive had partners that got rid of the bush and it just didn't look as good on some, no I didn't say a word, but luck would have it they grew it back and it was just passing thing.

I can't say I've ever seen a hairless pussy and associated it with a child, I also don't see men with clean-shaven faces and wonder why they're pretending to be children, or women with shaved armpits and associating it with being a child, or smooth legs. For people who make the first association, do you make the other associations?

Im not saying that all women who are bald look like children, its just that I dont like being completely hairless as it reminds me of the pre pube days. I like smooth legs and underarms on women but love guys to have body hair, its just so sexy....to me. I'm not on 2try's hit list, but to call any person's genitals disgusting is a dick move in my view. Not my problem. .I also don't take on comments about hairless looking like a baby or child which I've seen many of in the forums over time. Has been very vocal on the subject of pubic hair including this little number "Also, let's be honest: just like every other part of your body, your labia major is not immune to gravity. Do you really want a hairless vagina for the rest of your life?" I guess it depends on how good your bush is? If you can grow a nice even one then keeping it nicely hedged would serve as a "pretty draping" and leave something for your lover to uncover. If it's sparse and uneven it might be best to get rid of it - I don't think the mangy dog look is ever in 😉

My naked Mount of Venus is turning men into Paedophiles... No, that's a little strange, I'm pretty sure Paedophilia is a whole lot more involved than that. I'm not a fan of the look as it 'makes ME feel like a child' I like feeling like a woman... I also love hair on men, I think it's more 'manly' , not that I'm associating hairless men with women, that would be ridiculous... But to me, feeling big rough hands on my soft skin and a hairy chest against my smooth one is a turn on, to me, it's those differences which make me ADORE men

Quoting '2tryU'A hairy vag or cock is disgusting No hair is not cool, never was never will be I suppose in a way it is a dicky post considering it's theme. :-P.It's still an opinion though. Semantics maybe but let me explore. .It would be okay if I said... "a hairy vag or cock is delectable. No hair is cool, always was, always will be"..It's still a blanket statement... The change is one word. One that doesn't have the trigger that disgusting has associated with it. How many people are going to say anything? .The intent behind that one word, I don't know. A personal experience for all I know. .Cheers, Peachy :-)

Semantics it is, but disgusting is an offensive word, delectable is not... Anyway, there are star bellied sneetches and those without stars upon thars... That's life! I have a definite choice about what I like on me, and a preference of what I like on others, in saying that though, if George Clooney were to drop his pants for me I would probably not turn him down regardless of what his manscaping style (or lack of it) happened to be, and that goes for anyone I am attracted to either physically or mentally.

the fact that "fashion trend setters" are now saying "pubic hair is back in fashion" is a positive thing I reckon.... at the end of the day our species have got rid of the majority of its hair via natural selection during the course of evolution for a reason! Except for 2 main areas - our head and our pubic area! The reason we have those is to protect those important organs (your brain and reproductive stuff are both fairly important!) - then someone comes forward and puts the image of ALWAYS clean shave, barren pubic are as the NORM for adults who are in reproductive age...GIMME A BREAK! High time to reverse the "trend" and at least allow for those adults who do not go barren in their pubic hair department a bit of relief of "being normal" This does not mean that unkept bushes which are unslightly (e.g so much hair that it peaks out of ones undies etc) is a good and endorsed thing - I think that is a sign of bad hygenie...as is going completely barren, in my opinion

Can we please leave hygiene and cleanliness out of the topic of body hair? Why can't we discuss the subject of pubic hair (or circumcised cocks for that matter) without using the words 'clean' 'dirty' 'hygiene' or 'disgusting'? A person with hair is no more likely to not shower than one without (as is a guy with a foreskin). Personal hygiene is another topic and has nothing to do with a person's body parts or lack thereof!

Lol hmm Have a read of my first comment within this topic, then have a read of koko's first comment. I'll just give you a few secs to do that.........okay, so did you notice anything? Perhaps i'll help you with that. My comment didn't mention bushes, no 'mud slinging' as you referred to it, simply saying what I have and what I like. That is the topic, is it not? Koko, by contrast, did insert 'mudslinging' by referring to hairless as 'skinned rabbit' or 'looking like a 10 yr old'. So who's throwing mud at who? But well done for yet again helping us with our thought process. Where would we be without that 😀👍

I have to say that the smooth downstairs does not do much for me at all as I tend to like the au naturel but that is me. As far as fashion goes I have no belief in that side at all considering how much so called fashion in society has caused so much angst for so many. I wonder where the idea that it was fashion came from and why did it start. I would think there would have been a cultural thing there perhaps or a need for a hairless area due to necessity eg: tropical climates and bacteria forming in hair, who knows. But I cannot see fashion being the main reason, just the outcome.

To be honest ,until a few trips with wife to nudey beach ,we both thought no pubes on lady's looked a little bit young girlish ,but now we have changed our minds ,on some it looks great and some not so much ,for us the common denominator in what made the difference ,for us believe it or not ,was a good tan ,and not a ghost white skin , very white skin gave the downstairs department a look of a very young person ,either way it doesn't matter ,it's up to the indavidual who's body it is ,what they want and what their partner is keen on - Posted from rhpmobile

It is a misconception about looking like a little girl and it is further from the truth for me and 99.99 % of all men as that is so wrong, it is for me about the women is then totally naked she removes her clothes and if she has removed all her hair then she it at her most sexiest , Plus as I stated so much nicer giving oral .Plus I think ladies that are totally smooth must think about sex a lot more and there for be more sexually active and that is my type of women , to me a women that does not wax or shave may have a low sex drive and can’t be bothered, not saying that is for all ladies that don’t wax or shave.

Oh I didn't take offence at your comment, was just responding to your thoughts about the mud slinging. Who were you referring to, in general that is? Oh and koko, nitpicking about detail? So what about the skinned rabbit comment, bit defensive wouldn't you say? Given that was your first post and seem sensitive on the subject, so it's okay for you to say that, but not okay for anything negative to be said about bushes? Double standards yet again. That comment didn't bother me in the least, you're entitled to your opinion, but we aren't apparently, nothing new about that. Long as you're happy, that's all that matters 👍😀

So.......I may have a low sex drive, cant be bothered and probably am not very sexually active because I have a small "landing strip' of pubic hair. Well to date I havent had anyone flounce out of my bedroom in a strop upon seeing my little patch for the first time. And cant be bothered? Au contraire.......it probably takes longer to lovingly shape my small triangle than it does to shave the whole lot off. If 99.9% of guys did indeed, only want smooth pussies, Id be a frustrated old biddy. Im actually laughing now, the whole thing is just becoming humorous. Excuse me while I skip across to the Laugh of the Day post.......

Wouldnt think there would be any men in here that would walk out on a woman with a hairy muff or a hairless twat. Matter of fact, most wouldn't care if the lady had a hairy back. Personally dont care if its bald, shaped or mown. It's all about preferences. And if my lady asked me what i preferred for later activities, I'd say give it a shave. Matter of fact, let me shave it for you. But if she said, no i wouldn't care. The question asked for views. And everyone gave them. And a few got in a twist.......Be pretty boring if no one did.

Fashion started in Ancient Greece,it was compulsory for prostitutes apparently. But it wasn't until the 80s,and the rise of the porn industry that it became de riguer for the sexually active and adventurous. However there are good reasons for not shaving or waxing before sex. When freshly done it creates small lesions in the skin which makes you more prone to infections. Hair actually provides a barrier to the other persons skin, hence it does have a function xxFreya

Heres something I read not long ago ( sorry cant quote where I read it) but since the popular trend of removing hair from down there, there has been a huge drop in people getting crabs, or pubic lice. This is because there isnt any hair for them to grab onto. So thats a positive. But with every positive, there is a negative. The rise of genital herpies has skyrocketed, because its transfered skin to skin, and pubic hair was a natural barrier to catching it. So there ya go.

I'd appreciate a link to the study you mention as I can find no mention of it on PubMed. I'm also unsure of the point you're trying to make? Your original post stated that you thought a full bush was a sign of bad hygiene, but now you're quoting a study saying that shaved women are more susceptible to UTIs...

Figured I could count on you for giving me the lowdown on the history of shaving. I was going to mention the porn industry making it popular but I figured I would be beaten down over that one . Speaking of porn, I forgot to mention in my last post that if I do watch it, just to avoid the full shaven thing I go straight to the hairy category. Wonder if I am a minority when it comes to hair these days.

I've seen beautiful examples of both hair and bare on men and women... I've also seen unsightly examples of both. I keep myself bare on my labia but with a trimmed triangle on my mons. This is my preference because I don't like the look of being fully bare, plus I am rather fond of my ginger minge . I've never had any complaints, and if I did I'd be sure to tell them to not let the door hit them in the arse on their way out. As for what I prefer in others... give me some lovely soft hair over a stubbly, in-grown-hair studded mess any day. And if you're one of those people who beautifully rock the hair-free look, I will be sure to dive right in there too. By the time I get near a person's junk, I usually quite like them so I'm just happy to be there.

Quoting 'Freya70' Fashion started in Ancient Greece,it was compulsory for prostitutes apparently. But it wasn't until the 80s,and the rise of the porn industry that it became de riguer for the sexually active and adventurous. However there are good reasons for not shaving or waxing before sex. When freshly done it creates small lesions in the skin which makes you more prone to infections. Hair actually provides a barrier to the other persons skin, hence it does have a function xxFreya I was way ahead of my time! :-D.All because it felt good... Peachy

Quoting 'willowtree_2' Heres something I read not long ago ( sorry cant quote where I read it) but since the popular trend of removing hair from down there, there has been a huge drop in people getting crabs, or pubic lice. This is because there isnt any hair for them to grab onto. So thats a positive. But with every positive, there is a negative. The rise of genital herpies has skyrocketed, because its transfered skin to skin, and pubic hair was a natural barrier to catching it. So there ya go. https://theconversation.com/despite-barely-there-trends-pubic-lice-are-here-to-stay-52958 Trends in hair removal are often linked to loss of pubic lice habitat but there simply is not data to support the hypothesis that pubic lice are “going extinct”. Such claims make for great headlines but there is little evidence, let alone logic, behind the claim. It may be true that complete hair removal will prevent pubic lice setting up home, but are all those currently sexually active bare down there? Not likely. Pubic lice have been with us for thousands of years and they’ll be with us for thousands more. Scientifically it makes no difference. It is the same with short hair or long hair - on your head :)As fashion "dictates" whether short or long hair is trendy the same applies to pubic hair - but the individual has the right to do the opposite :) Not a reflection of personal hygenie just the probability of passing on something.

Well thanks for all your input on this subject, it looks like as most things sexual it is a personal choice and that's the way it should be and not governed by fashion , but for my wife she loves it smooth and that is her choice not mine, but I am not complaining as smooth is also the way I like it. Thanks.

More interested in the woman's intellect, personality and soul than her grooming habits but if I have to pick a preference, trimmed it is. Love the look and feel of it! For me, I've settled on trimmed above and waxed shaft, balls and behind. Looks masculine but clean, smooth and feels oh so good underneath!!

I didn't take it personally as I had a hairy one most of my life and no one called it disgusting because everyone was hairy and we accepted it. Then hairless became fashionable, I joined in, and since then hair has become less acceptable in some people's minds. I've watched many a forum topic pass through on how hair is 'unclean' so I am guessing that is where the notion came from. We humans are very much influenced by fashion and our personal prejudices are fashioned by fashion. Funny story: when living in PNG I had hairy armpits (bit of a hippy/naturist, perhaps/or not) and apparently one of the wives at the local pool thought I was trying to seduce her husband whenever I lifted my arms up and exposed my pits. Oh how times change. 😂😂😂

Whether we like it or not at the end of the day porn is what determines how much pubic hair we have.. back in the 70's - 80's all porn including video & magazine had unending amounts of hair ...soooo everyone was hairy .. in the 90's on - porn started depicting women with less hair .. soooo ... we followed suite .. landing strips - to totally bare ..... because people watch porn the amount of hair decreased .. likewise in the current climate of porn men have little or no hair ...sooo what follows - men know have less pubic hair - if the porn industry turned around and brought hair back as fashionable .. we would all follow.. debates about cleanliness, smoothness etc have nothing to do with the true reality of the situation .. As David Bowie said .. Its all about Fashion ..

I read a comment, sorry I can't remember who it was, but regarding being more sexual. Having had pubic hair for most of my life, the removal of it combined with me being extremely orgasmic, I'm aroused most of the time, indeed has increased my sensitivity and ultimately my sexuality. If you still have pubic hair, that's your choice of course, but you don't yet know how unbelievably erotic it is. I feel every breath of wind, I play with myself/touch/myself more, I'm turned on in my bikini more, when I squirt, the smooth surface is delicious, I myself get turned on more by it. So each to their own but it was life changing for me. Not just the big harvest lol but my sexual changes too. I also don't judge a woman for still having pubic hair but for me, I'd never go back, I love my silky smooth pussy 😀

But I_touch_myself I understand what you're saying. I got waxed once ( you have to try everything once in this life time) cock sack and pubes, and it was a little painful but not unbearable. But the feeling of being bare and silky smooth ! It was about a month before I stopped continually playing with my self! These days I shave my sack, cock and perineum evry two or three days and have trimmed pubes. That is probably my preference. I actually love nice soft fluffy pubes to snuffle around in and play in , but find bare pussy lips to look and feel very sexy.

I like smooth lips on smooth lips and something to scratch my nose on. But to be perfectly honest, I tend to be more interested in the human being its attached to. Its a matter of choice and as long as I get my mouth on it on a regular basis, I am happy with whatever choice is made.My my own personal grooming standards. I keep the balls smooth and the rest trimmed very short, I do that out of respect for the person who is down there since I have heard over the years lots of 'mouth full of pubes' comments from partners when discussing it.

Intriguing discussion this one - the last figures i saw in a prominent publication suggested that more than 50% of people preferred a little bit of fluff - it is seen by most as an indicator of maturity - that is the person you are having fun with is an adult - I have also seen figures that suggest that most prefer none and also figures that suggest that majority of people prefer hair. I would err on the side of the first argument - perhaps a majority prefer some trimmed growth but certainly not the bushiness of o' natural. The brazilian was and pretty much is a fashion trend but like all fashion trends some will continue after it is no longer and others will not - Personal choice is the hall mark of the ' Lifestyle ' and who is one to take that away from us. Here I will set cat among pigeons , I first saw this on Embarrassing Bodies UK and have since seen it on The Sex Education Show and read this information in published texts. Bacteriologists discovered that unshaven pubic areas carry considerably less bacteria than shaven - hairs are a natural part of our defense against infection and keep bacteria away from the open parts of our bodies...... So choice is yours - I must admit I prefer a well manicured grass area with no weeds and the grass cut quite short - but that is only my personal preference - which ever you choose - is the right choice.

Number one done and dusted. And for the price of waxing! Norty that's interesting. Because a lot of my girlfriends suffer with regular UTI's when they dare to be bare. And a few of their doctors said it's quite common also. Pubic hair helps protect the vulva from bacteria. I think if you're both clean - orally and privately, the difference would be minimal infection wise?

"More UTIs from those who are bare" Does this control for how much sex bare ppl are having vs bushy ppl? I wonder if (en masse) the bare ppl tend to be more sex positive and have more sex and an increased risk of UTI (also wonder whether they tend to wearing underwear more conducive to UTIs than others).
