A veryyyyy loooooong post my eyes glaze over..Short attention span me...I don't continue reading...am I influenced by others responses?Sometimes a well tuned different opinion will often have me rethink my point of view..Am I scared of people's responses,nope...I do try not to be offensive without being a milksop though xx Freya

The filter between my brain and my mouth doesn't always work....😇 don't get me started on my fingers!! In answer to the question other peoples responses can be very enlightening, educational and reflective. Do they influence my own opinions? Dependant on topic sometimes they can broaden them, alter them and sometimes entirely change them to a better way. Do I hold back? Sometimes but mostly nup, the forum gets me mostly unedited.....and I think most everyone else too 😎

Im curious. Why bother reading a topic (and assuming that you find that topic interesting)...... but not the replies?! Sounds like rather a waste of your time reading forums to me.??! I don't know why Im asking... because according to you.... (a) you'll try not to read the replies, even though its your own topic.... and(b) would you even reply.... which is, after all, the singular purpose of a forum to illicit reply, and response. So in summary..... odd.

Do you read a topic, and reply to it before you read the other posts, so as not to be influenced. I usually read responses first, just in case what Im going to write hasnt already been mentioned. But I love reading everyones opinions.Learn stuff as well as have a laugh.

between a group of people but only listening to what one person is saying isn't it? I always read all the responses before adding anything, often because someone may have already voiced what I think and I don't want to repeat it. Also, my opinion may be modified by reading other people's thoughts on a topic. Sometimes someone offers a perspective I hadn't considered that changes how I view the issue at hand. It's one of the reasons I love forums, the conversation is the fun part.

I try as best I can to read the forum topics without reading replies ,,, hence the question ? Are you influenced by other replies and do you hold back in fear of responses ? . If I know it's a touchy topic, I will often skip reading replies because I know I will be influenced. People so often say the same things, me included. I'm trying to be a bit more flexible at the moment, and explore my answers a bit more. . A decent amount of the time, I will have followed a thread before posting. . A lot of times, I will catch a thread near it's end... . Fear of responses isn't such a big thing, generally. Depends on what I've put out there? What other people make of it? Balance. xoXox

And now I'm wondering, before I hit the top of the last page reading the posts, backwards, like I like to do. We're on page 2. . I haven't followed the thread. . Page 1 . when a lot of the new threads get posted and end up with first dibs. other times not so. I am not really a sheep so I don't tend to let others influence my responses but sometimes I like to debate other replies, mostly because I am interested in what they have to say whether I agree or not. I do like differences to my opinion because it is enlightening and I like to look at things from different perspectives and I don't usually take them personally. As for biting my tongue, I probably mostly do because it isn't that important to me to make waves in here. I prefer to be recognised for my opinion rather than my bitchiness and I think many things get taken out of context or get personal which I don't have much time for. I am assuming you meant you don't read others replies before adding your own.

No I don't really care if someone doesn't like what I have to say, after all we are all different people with different opinions. I'd find it boring if there wasn't the banter, the disagreements, the exchangers and the challengers...... I also like to read what most people have to say, but there are a few that I'm just not interested in anything they have to say.......💋

A lot of the time look back and go why didnt I read some of the answers before mine and find out its gone into one of the many tangents that a forum allows the questions posed to wander into.I get your point OP answer the original premise with out influence so its your answer and not a buy product of other peoples opinion. To be honest I read some of them not all and then toss my experience mostly or an opinion on knowledge that may be relevant to the post and on the odd occasion utter crap because the post deserves it.

Posting a reply before reading previous posts. Depends on the topic. sometimes I read the OP and the posts/replies before I post just in case what I have to say has been said. If the topic is just light and fun, I may join in and post. Sometimes, I just post based on the OP without reading all the replies/posts (specially if it several pages long) so it does not influence my view. For topics I am not familiar with, I may end up just reading about the topic and the replies and try to learn and understand more about it. I do not feel the need to post at all.

If it is of interest to me, I read the replies and contribute if I have anything useful to add. If the Forum Topic does not interest me, I skip it altogether. The function of a Forum is to gather various people's opinions. Everyone has a right to an opinion. Not all have to agree or disagree to it. I learn from reading the Forums and sometimes taking part. I do give other Members' opinions some consideration and hopefully, I learn from it. I'm not sure if I "hold back" in fear of peoples responses. Only the Forum Members can be the judge of that. Amy

First I replay direct to the OP not reading the others, well I do scan just in case something poignant is being said. There are also a few here i always read because they are in tune with reality and will influence how i think about the subject at hand. But then i will blurt out what I think without to much influence from the rest. Also many threads do stray from the subject and there is no point reading before answering the op. I am kind of a pop in pop out type so I pop in write pop out. Come back later and then maybe read what others have to say and if i have anything new to add I will. I do wonder sometimes why I enjoy forums. I am not at all sure, i like to write and used to write stories and what not but without someone to read its a little empty. So I would guess that the main reason that I write on forums is because people will read it. If they like it or not, I do not really care. A long time ago i would write, not a journal, just musings on what ever came to mind. because I did not expect anyone to read it i did not bother with spelling or syntax, or even if it made any sense at all. Then one day my girlfriend found some of it. OMG, she thought i had lost it, she had shown it to my house mates and the general consensus was that I had dived off into the deep end of insanity. So i then vowed to always write with an audience in mind.

sometimes I just let fly with a post, but I think for every post I make there are about a hundred replies that I started and didn't send. Why wouldn't you read replies first? a person may have provided additional information, or your post could be entirely redundant I like to read a topic all the way through before replying - but RHP doesn't make it easy when some people have instant posting rights, and other posts can show up out of the blue that weren't there at the time you posted.

Valid points !additional information is always welcome ,,, unfortunately post seem to become redundant very quickly on here ,,, take this post for example ,, a simple question that quickly early in the post became about me and motives ( correct me if I'm wrong) and I think that's where my issues lie ,,, but in fairness there ate still those that stick to the question at hand (are ) cant be bothered going back - Posted from rhpmobile

The nature of the post I always think for first. If I sense there is emotion within the topic, then it can take a few questions to see where the emotions are leading or wanting to be expressed, just like a conversation. I don't mind writing straight from thought and first thought at that, too the OP or others posting their thoughts, If I get something wrong I don't mind being told so. One type of topic I always seem to test a little, is when there is a third person of the topic that has only the story told by the OP and written up as though the third person is not in the know of the topic that is about them. Occasionally topics have been put up for opinions with a story of another and others post with the emotions sought after by the nature of the story expressed. Eg;This fckn prick did such and such the fckn prick, what do you think about the fckn prick for fck'n doing that? Then there is the first two or three pages of posts replying..... "What a fck'n prick, the fckn prick, fck the prick for fck'n doing that the fck'n prick!!!." Then the fck'n prick everyone is calling a fck'n prick reads the topic and posts, "Hey, I'm that fck'n prick and yous'e can all go get buggered, this is what actually happened........... I love them topics and generally post my own inquiries as to the nature of the topic and the story told, then it's the nature of the response from the OP...... as too where the next thoughts lead, each to their own merits though. Otherwise, I will just bullshit and act as though I know what I'm talking about, if it's just bullshit anyway. Mado Mado Tara xx

The OP has a perception of himself you don't see? . You don't like his profile name? . Is there history here, I don't know about? Or an agenda? . Are the gentlemen protecting the lady's honour? . What? What? What? Because, I totally don't get the problem here. . I generally agree with the OP's posts, well maybe aside from his perception of himself, because I wouldn't know enough to unequivocally say, I know better that him about himself.

Inyajet is easier than typing the whole bloody profile thing and If one had a private jet, then one would be Inyajet. I can't be bothered typing all that out, so Inyajet is the nick name Peachy and Inyajet probably can't be bothered arguing over it, he never did before. But that was a good old drunken brawl letting off some steam and we shared a beer for the thoughts to it all in all. A men and mates thing Peachy

Don't get it. . It seems like a PRIVATE joke to me... and I'm not the little woman. To be left out of the loop on a public forum...
-
madotara69
No private jokes here, just had a discussion with Ihaveaprivatejet during a topic he put up a short while back, he was half pissed from memory and felt like letting off some steam, so we had some differences early in the part, more sledging really, I think I began with suggesting Inyajet shove his private jet up his arse, then he suggested something back to even up the stakes and show his interest for a bit of a tiff, it was all gentleman like though Peachy. Then after a while and some steam let off, plus I think Inyajet sobered up by the next morning, we had a late night with his topic, anyhow we settled into a conversation relating to family matters and some of the shitty stuff that can dampen the spirits and for doing the best one can for the best interests of those loved he snuck in during the moments throughout his topic as well expressing his OP was "Open forum with beliefs not judgements" 'Off topic' and a bump just for you, and said he posted it looking for a fight.. well it's all on the wall Peachy, times can be lonely and self sacrificing, I think was Inyajet's general meaning of the matter at hand. So Inyajet has recently been in a lonely predicament and sitting by his daughter keeping her under his wing, if that's the right way of saying it Inyajet? Some folk were suggesting Inyajet was not in the right place of mind for RHP, for their reasons and also in conversation with Inyajet and bare in mind... there was still smoke from the gunfights of the heated night prior. I said a few words to the nature for, "if that Inyajet felt like occupying some down time and sought some companionship, I suppose, then if he posted to the forums, I would chat amongst some banter understanding his troubles are of the best interests than of his own well being and social circles for better times would have it". We are family people with our own troubles bought upon us from others and have been in limbo, isolated in financial troubles the nasty result and a long struggle to have things set right, but we have each other too keep our spirits of kind nature and support with friendship and that thing love is for when the chips are down. So no silly stuff going on, just noticed Inyajet put up a post and deeds are measured by actions don't ya think MrsPearlescent? geez that is a mouthful so I'm sticking with Peachy xx If you think my first post was a dig at Inyajet, it wasn't, it was actually a long gone topic put up with intentions of persuading the regular posters and any others by speaking down and of untruths towards a couple that later picked up on the topic and set the record straight and too the point of a private message manipulated for ill judgement, awaiting replies in favor of an outright lie at a couples expense. The OP's embarrassing moment around page three was an unexpected influence for the topic as the young couple outed themselves to defend some nasty replies indirectly about them. So My post in this topic was on topic about influence, even manipulation the motivator. The only in joke is the "I can't be bothered bit, every time Inyajet can't be bothered, I have a little chuckle and make a book of it for the sakes of bothering :) Hope that helps Peachy. Now off to find some sketches, influenced by Blindmans sexy art and common interests alike. A question. Can we load up a photo of a sketch if it is of Tara in pencil, or do we have to be actually in the picture too?

I've got self portraits up without one of us in them. Back on topic I always read the replies before posting. Sometimes the topic goes a little left of centre and the conversation doesn't always flow very well if the topic suddenly reverts back to the original question. The other thing is being repetitive, if a lot of people have the same opinion, I don't feel the need to add my own. So maybe a fear of being boring I'm not worried about how people may respond, everyone has their own opinion and is entitled to it, this is a public forum after all. I may however be influenced to respond to a reply, especially if it's something I'm knowledgeable or I'm emotive about or it is fun. I Love the fun threads. I'm not one to follow the pack and have seen many a thread where this seems to have happened, I generally stop reading them and then find out some contraversy was had and the thread got canned.

used to read all replies before responding to an OP. But now I often don't bother. I've reduced my involvement in the forums for a few reasons, and if it looks like I might be heading into an argument I just stop reading and posting in that thread. There are people whose posts and comments I avoid reading altogether because they shit me to tears, and I've learned that responding to them is pointless (although I slip up every now and again and always regret it when I do, as I'm reminded why they shit me ). I'm just not interested in clashing with people on here anymore, I have much better things to do with my time.

Everything we hear is an opinion not necessarily a fact, everything we see is not necessarily the truth. Forums Are a canvass for those opinions & perceptions, and OPs are the precipitating factor underpinning the aforementioned. Just not a fan of this thread my opinion is it's purely self serving!

My dear man. I think the OP did not articulate himself well in his OP but from what I gather, he meant that when people post in response to a topic, do they read all the posts/replies first prior to posting their opinions or do they post their opinions without reading the replies, hence a duplication or reducdancy occurs. I believe the point he is making is that do people read the posts (or replies as he was worded it) first before forming an opinion, thereby influencing their opinion one way or the other. Capisce?

...I'll partially agree you sweet blossom.... ========== I do not hold that I'm one way or another on the core OP issues . It depends on my mood and the topic. If I've time & intrigued I enjoy reading every comment seeing what people's views are - & most of us do hold back a little - for courtesy sake not out of fearing ridicule for goodness sake. That is we hold back as much as we would in a normal conversation - face to face - I mean. Then again looking at this other comment just above - possibly some feel more secure communicating online.... -p ===========

Love the word. . I'm always interested in what people in the forums read into things, having BTDT on both sides of the fence, wrongly and rightly. To and fro. I think a lot of it goes back to where we came from, what we know? Our buttons are pushed? There is a lesson there for us to learn? . I don't like to read a lot of comments because of my reaction to them. I've been here long enough to know what pushes my buttons a lot of the time, but I still fall into that trap a lot. I like to think I'm getting more resilient in that area. It's very rare I feel a need to complain about comments aimed at me, that's why there's so many around, lol. . Haha, ooohhh I think I get it now, The potential, of sowing discontent, that rightly or wrongly, has now become so. Layers. Thanks for the patience. . Princess Fi

He says, "I try as best I can to read the forum topics without reading replies". That is his perception of his behaviour. People have been trying to pick holes all along, and whether you're right or wrong, at some point, you become the troll in my eyes. Not that I imagine my opinion has any merit with anybody. . I was making a play on words Annie. But yes, that's a topic that's bound to raise hackles on a couple of levels. That's why I have avoided it.

Now, I think you are trolling for a fight with Sensual Aries too. sometimes it takes more guts to walk away from a fight. I will leave this thread now as getting tiresome when people get into fights for the sake of it and you are derailing your own thread. This will lead to deletion of this thread. BTW, Namecalling is not cool.

Quoting 'Ihaveaprivatejet' Correct me if I'm wrong but I read miss pearls post as someone else was picking holes in everything I had to say ,,, depends on how ONE what's to perceive it - Posted from rhpmobile That is exactly how I meant it. But also I also push the creed that it takes two to tango. :-) . The thread is your dance, in the ballroom that is RHP's Big Party (forums). Other people have joined your dance, but made it discordant, and others have joined in your flow but largely been overlooked while you have been dancing someone else's dance... but now it is taking on a tune of yours again. . I've enjoyed that we are somewhat on topic, and that you've kept on with your thread. One of Sensual's posts does make particular sense to me... having refreshed myself on the replies on the thread hehe, ;-). . "Forums Are a canvass for those opinions & perceptions, and OPs are the precipitating factor underpinning the aforementioned." . Please excuse my overactivity with the like button.

Like me, love me, hate me. Makes no difference jet. I lay here for the world to see. What you see is the real Annie. I deal with cards dealt to me over the years. I am scarred deeply but survived. I worry for you because I believe we all have the right to a happy and long life. To achieve that is not always easy but it is easier with love and support. Fighting on here achieves little but temporary frustration relief. You ask for me to show myself but you hide. Here I am, imperfect but the best I can be, not hiding. You, just a grey ghost. I use makeup to enhance my exterior so it can try and match my female mind and it's feelings and emotions. You may laugh at me, you may try and break me. But after I reached out to you some time ago and you had no courtesy to say thanks but no thanks, I really no longer give a fuck about you and your world of self pity.
