Turned off by a username?

October 24 2014

Have you received a message or flirt from someone and looked at their username and say to yourself 'Nuh-uh. Not touching that one.'? E.g. 'Bemycumbucket', 'fukurfacehard' etc. These are not real usernames btw and I have checked, so take it easy. Lol. I have received lots of contacts and some have unattractive names as per above. Obviously I did not respond positively to these contacts. I reply politely with the template reply. The point is that it makes me wonder who the target audience is and whether they are having any success. If they are, well done. So how do your respond to such names and do you have your set of rules of what names to respond to and not to respond to. We are all different so what I may find attractive will be different from the next person. Over to you folks.

Hiwannafuck and letmecumonurface (profiles close to these checked me out today) are instant no's I'm afraid. Some people are just here for the physical stuff, others want their minds seduced as well. I just don't think these men and I would have much to talk about, which doesn't work for me.

It would be interesting to see men's opinions on whether 'unattractive' names are overlooked when they see the attractive profile pics. Absolutely OP. Some packaging will appeal to some and not others and since a profile and all it contains is your advertisement. The username is generally the first thing noticed. If it describes an attribute or an act that makes me go ugh, ick, then my interest is already waning.

A user name should give you an immediate idea of who the person is, and who they are looking for. My name is very intentional, so people do not contact me if I am completely off their radar. So maybe they are hoping to find people out there who are what they are looking for. i.e. a quick fuck as nsa. I doubt they get many replies, but then again! They can keep trying, and probably will post on the forum later on wondering why no one contacts them. I Wonder if anyone would respond here saying that those types of names are just what they are looking for? I am sure most people like me think WTF, but is there anyone who does not? they are probably not reading these forums if they do, too busy with all the guys out there with these user names.

In fact, what's in a profile? Personally speaking, my profile has been written and re-written many times, and in order to be honest everyone should do the same. Things change, people change, and what was a good idea then doesn't mean it's a true indication of a person now. The WORST turn off is Autofill. A name is just an identifier. Dig deeper if you want a deeper connection. And don't get me started on the masses of (mostly), women who think that sexy pics exclude them from bothering to put some actual thought into their profile. Blergh - Posted from rhpmobile

First impressions count. It is hard to recover once someone rejects you because of a poorly thought out user name. Always keep it neutral I say, you can always tell them how kinky you are later, rather than spelling it out for everyone in the title of your profile.

just to see if I've received any from Members with unappealing User Names. Thankfully there's none. I too, would get "turned off" by an unattractive User Name but if "messaged", I will usually reply. There's no point in me being rude. When I do my own Search for likely RHP males, I tend to stay clear of "unattractive" User Names because that is what it is; unattractive !!! What I don't understand is when male RHP Members change a completely acceptable User Name, to one that is absolutely repulsive !!! What do they hope to gain from that ?

Yes, there are totally lame, ordinary or mind catching profile names, though to judge some one on a name with out having a chat is quite superficial I tend to think. Ok, so I have a little experience in this area.. I came in here originally as GiddyUp007, mainly because I'm a country boy.. My real name is Christian, and through talking to and meeting a few ladies in here, they kept calling me "Mr Grey" as in "Christian Grey" lol. So I changed my name for a little while on here to "Christian Grey"as a bit of tongue in cheek as I seemed to have inherited a nickname on here.. Then not long afterwards, a young lady in here randomly made contact and had negative comment with my name CG.. I didn't care to much for the comment, but at first glance, I guess it could looked like I have tickets on myself.. I wouldn't read too much into names peeps as I guess when people first hop on here, they wouldn't generally take things too seriously until they get a little attention, or none at all, and finally realise it's more about the actual communication and profile layout. Personally, I don't tend to like the "tickets on yourself" type names like sexybitch, wyldfuck etc but then again, they may have a similar story as mine and I'd never dismiss a chat because of that.. - Posted from rhpmobile

Well sometimes you can go through a fair bit of effort trying to find a name because all the other ones before hand are taken already. Have to remember there are a heap of men on here compared to women, so what happened to the message you get to being the deciding factor. At the end of the day it is a name if they are respectful and non pushy does it really matter? Makes me wonder if my username is offensive now

Any recommendations for a cool username? Think of it this way. You are marketing yourself in rhp and selling your best point to attract the 'buyers' to pick you from the shelf where hundreds of other products may have the same attributes as yourself but have branded themselves better by having interesting fun names people can remember. It is all about the packaging to start off with then the tasting, then savouring of the product. determine who your target audience is, get some understanding on the forum what your target audience like, find what is nice about yourself, highlight those that might appeal to your audience and then change your name, modify your profile and put up interesting pictures. Then wait for the manna to fall. Lol. Good luck.

... when we signed up the first twenty names we thought of were taken (obviously by other smart and witty people), so we stated what we thought at the time; Hard to pick a name.

Some of the men that have contacted me both here and on other sites have had squicky names though. Not surehow mine's perceived, although by the lack of messages in my inbox it might be time to start thinking up a new one :)

You are assuming these people (as per the majority) are seeking anything other than something to occupy their time and are not in the least serious.Sadly there are exceptions. I guess that has something to do with lack of X chromosomes in the DNA.

A profile name can provoke such discussion! To answer question ,it can be taken out if context! I meant it in a (no hidden agenda sense) Not a sexual wam bam thank you mam! As far a success goes it's not a numbers game to me ! I believe the forums are a great platform the genuine lady speaks from the heart on here! Being a grey ghost is more of a hurdle, but I send a piccy to any special lady! Not even a sexual one just me and my son! Ps (you know who you are ) xxx

I'm new to this and thought I would use an old nick name. part of my name and what I use to do for a living as a carpenter. It could be taken as a little rude if you didn't know but works fine for me - Posted from rhpmobile

Quoting 'nostrings_1'I send a piccy to any special lady! Not even a sexual one just me and my son! Ps (you know who you are ) xxx How old is your son? Off topic, I know, but a month or so ago I reported a user for having un underaged child in his pic. The mods agreed and took it down immediately. Kids have no place here. If your son is over 18: does he know he's on an adult dating site?

Kids should not be in the picture (figuratively) when a parent is seeking a sexual encounter or even a "vanilla" date, in my view. There are female predators out there. If your son is over 18: does he know he is involved?

I loathe it when people have photos of themselves with their children. There is one particular 'vanilla' site that I was on where this practice is quite common. Yes, you have kids and yes, you love them, but in my opinion you should not be posting photos of your kids on any type of dating site! A big no-no!

My username is designed to attract some, but will definitely turn some people off once they get the pun (PS. Not to derail the thread, that's a no from me too about kids in dating site pics. Even proud parents in vanilla sites.)

I have a thing about 69 in a username. It's just so cliched nd I think anyone who uses it is just trying too hard. It may be also because I just don't like 69. I really like to concentrate when I'm giving a guy head and I don't want any distractions.
