You could be 4'9" and a size 8 or 6'2" and a size 8. The former would look normal or average, the latter most likely anorexic. Some women have slight builds and some larger - not using the larger boned excuse. But some women have larger shoulders, tiny rib cages etc. If you want a generalisation a plus size model is someone who is a size 12 or over. If you look at the general population average seems to be 12-16. As far as boobs go - Summer your boobs are most definitely spectacular 😍 I'm a G cup - there's no hiding they are large. If you're shopping for lingerie anything D and above appears to be large as the range offered reduces drastically from this cup size. Again cup size isn't the only indicator of breast size. The measurement of the under bust also determines it. So an 8G is a lot smaller breast than an 18G for example. Interestingly the most famous lingerie line in the world - Victoria's Secret only go up to a DDD cup.

Way too simplistic. As said above there are so many other variables that are at play. I'm 160cm tall (yeah, a short arse), size 8 on top and 10 on the bottom. I definitely wouldn't call myself skinny (hate that word). Perhaps slim yeah, but I put average on my profile because I have a bit of a pear shape going on and I prefer to err on the conservative side with my profile categories. If I was a size 10 overall, and given my height, I would definitely not be skinny whereas a tall size 10 woman would look slim / thin. As for boobs, I wear a C cup bra but I know by just looking most guys would think they're smaller (as Soft said cup size isn't the only factor), so I just put B in my profile to avoid creating unrealistic expectations.

Boobs I'm a small b and I think that's pretty tiny. I would consider C large, just because I'm so small, D huge lol and I have a friend who is off the scale enormous, boobs not her, opposite end of the scale to me. Do I wish I had big boobs, God no, I love mine👌😉

Far to many variables. And how do you determine the dress size anyway when different brands are different sizes? There really is no standard size 12. I have items in my closet ranging from size 12 to size 18 depending on brand and style.

Interesting. When I was a teenager I was being weighed in every week and having weekly blood tests. At 173cm (I shrunk after back surgery lol) I weighed 47 kilos. The skin on my ribs was sucked in between them and my hips bones poked right out. Apart from still having a decent set of boobs I looked anorexic and completely unhealthy. When shopping for a bikini I was a size 16 top but size 8 bottoms were too big. Interestingly during the time I was that size I tried on my mothers wedding dress. Looking at her photos she was beautiful and curveous. But the zipper could not be done up due to the size of my rib cage (big boned anyone 😉) Would I have been considered overweight because technically to fit into a dress I was still buying a size 14-16 at most places? Genuinely interested in what you consider size definition.

That's your boobs though, I have no boobs so my view on size, at the top to respond to your question, is skewed because of that, and the same for you Annie, your shoulders would be wider, the frame of a man 😃 The question was asked how we interpret it, I said how I interpreted it, sorry but I'm not posting a comment just to blow smoke up the ass of other women, I'll say it how I see it, due respect, but I have a right to do that 😉

my best friend and I weighed almost the exact same weight. But I'm 5"2 and she's 5"8...so I looked very overweight, and she looked healthy. We both got into health and fitness together..I am now much smaller and she's trimmed and toned too. But with her height she's still "average", where I've been described as small or petite. It's all subjective. All body types and shapes are different. I read an article a while ago about being skinny yet unhealthy vs larger but healthy. Can't remember where I found it...but was very interesting.

Look at people as individuals and do what I do.... Say nothing....unless it's in good jest... I went for a race car drive say the other week, and when getting fitted for the racing suit(didn't really need it, as we didn't really go that fast), I asked the lady if she had "fat size" for my gum ball look... She just rolled her eyes and handed me a suit and said "just put this one on" I still don't know what size I am lol - Posted from rhpmobile

The doctor said, "Joe, the good news is I can cure your headaches. The bad news is that it will require castration. You have a very rare condition, which causes your testicles to press on your spine, and the pressure creates one hell of a headache. The only way to relieve the pressure is to remove the testicles."Joe was shocked and depressed. He wondered if he had anything to live for. He couldn't concentrate long enough to answer, but decided he had no choice but to go under the knife. When he left the hospital he was without a headache for the first time in 20 years, but he felt like he was missing an important part of himself. As he walked down the street, he realized that he felt like a different person. He could make a new beginning and live a new life. He saw a men's clothing store & thought, "That's what I need - a new suit."He entered the shop and told the salesman, "I'd like a new suit." The elderly tailor eyed him briefly and said, "Let's see ... size 44 long." Joe laughed, "That's right, how did you know?" "Been in the business 60 years!" Joe tried on the suit. It fit perfectly. As Joe admired himself in the mirror, the salesman asked, "How about a new shirt?" Joe thought for a moment and then said, "Sure." The salesman eyed Joe and said, "Let's see, 34 sleeve & 16-1/2 neck." Again, Joe was surprised, "That's right, how did you know?" "Been in the business 60 years!"Joe tried on the shirt, and it fit perfectly. As Joe adjusted the collar in the mirror, the salesman asked, "How about new shoes?" Joe was on a roll and said, "Sure." The salesman eyed Joe's feet and said, "Let's see ... 9-1/2 E." Joe was astonished, "That's right, how did you know?" "Been in the business 60 years!"Joe tried on the shoes and they fit perfectly. Joe walked comfortably around the shop and the salesman asked, "How about some new underwear?" Joe thought for a second and said, "Sure." The salesman stepped back, eyed Joe's waist and said, "Let's see... size 36." Joe laughed. "Ah ha! I got you! I've worn size 34 since I was 18 years old." The salesman shook his head, "You can't wear a size 34. A size 34 underwear would press your testicles up against the base of your spine and give you one hell of a headache.

When you talk about averages you talk about the range among the majority, but not all, there will be outliers at either end of the range. Consider yourselves special. Personally I hate being labelled average us much as being labelled "normal". 😱 So why be offended ?

Thanks for your honest response. Interestingly at the same time I was being weighed in we had careers week at school. I was poached by an advertising exec who wanted to register me with their modelling agency - all costs covered. The reality was I wouldn't have been able to work in catwalk, my height I could have scraped in by - but my measurements even without boobs would have ruled me out - and that was bone measurements because that's pretty much all I was. With catwalk you need to be able to fit one size with tiny adjustments. My shoulders and ribs were just too large. Add in I have a short torso and high waist. I would have been limited to editorial photoshoots and possibly magazines such as FHM after gaining a few kilos back. So you can be anorexic and still not be considered the 'right size' according to standard sizing. Standard sizing exists but isn't used by most of the fashion and retail industry. I can be a size 12 in pants in one store, and just squeeze into a size 16 in another as Beth said. So what size should I count myself as when I also wear size 20 tops? Maybe I should just say I'm BBW and be done with it 😉

'Ones weight to height ratio determines whether' or in other words their BMI. I'm glad you mentioned the other aspects because BMI is an outdated an extremely inaccurate measurement of whether someone is underweight, over weight, obese etc. Was the HCF study or the one they release based on BMI? Because I would interested in a peer reviewed study based on the amount of excessive fat accumulation in adipose tissue, waist measurements and other more accurate means of measuring the overweight or obese. We all know that based on BMI alone most rugby players would be considered morbidly obese.

Because I'm of S/E Asian origin and most of the people from my country are tiny creatures. I did have body issues but I wasn't not happy with it. I was just being honest with how I saw myself. But since joining RHP, I was told that I was being too harsh on myself. I now have 'See my pics' on my profile and let people judge for themselves. People will judge you according to their own standards. As long as you love the body you're in then who cares what other people think. If you don't love your body, do something about it - either physically or mentally - maybe it is just a state of mind. - Posted from rhpmobile

Body fat % (measures in inches). males: % body fat = 86.010 x log10(abdomen - neck) - 70.041 x log10(height) + 36.76 females: % body fat = 163.205 x log10(waist + hip - neck) - 97.684 x log10(height) - 78.387 Can you still see your brain? Or done a full rotation?? - Posted from rhpmobile

No thanks. They've developed that for their personnel. And neck measurement can be misleading if you're very muscular. It would be nice if there was more access to Air-Displacement Plethysmography or Hydrostatic Weighing. I know I'm overweight/fat - and apart from some medical issues that have at times restricted my movement, it's all pretty much a result of consuming excessive amounts of fat and refined sugar. Full rotation? Probably not, arthritis and spinal fusion have kind of restricted me. But I am hyper flexible 😉

I know we're both overweight (fat). I also know many on here fail to accept the fact they are too but thats up to them. But for the sake of this post I'd say that generally I agree with the OP. Of course there are variables which come into play but its good enough for a rough guide. In saying that, so long as people are happy in their own skin who really cares? I know fat people who are happy and those in the healthy weight range who are absolutely miserable (and a bore on fb with their gym session posts). So as long as you're happy keep it up.

Because Australia is a multicultural country and there are so many different nations residing on this beautiful continent, my thoughts are as follows: DRESS SIZES Asian: 6 & under - small 8-10 - average 12-14 - large 16 & above - obese Non-Asian: 8-10 - small 12-14 - average 16 - overweight 18 & above - obese BOOBS CUP SIZES Asian: A - small B - average C - busty D-DD - large E & above - enormous Non-Asian: A-B - small C - average D-DD - busty E & above - enormous PS. I type "dress sizes" and "boobs sizes" in capital letters merely to differentiate the two categories that are listed in the OP's questions, not to scream at the OP :) - Posted from rhpmobile

As a teen I wavered between a 10 to 12 the top half 12 to 14. As you don't stop growing until you are 21 to 22 yrs of age boobs ended up being 16C. When I had first baby 18C then shrank back to 16C. Bottom was 12 to 14. Then baby no 2 came along boobs exploded to a 20 something. Then a biochemical hiccup happened with a few things health wise, weight shot up bottom about a size 20 top a whole lot bigger. Fortunately with the right treatment all has settled I'm a BBW. But still size 20 in the bottom. I still have big shoulders and big boobs. I no longer work on specific sizes. My friends range from tiny to large. So I work on slim, average, large or BBW. Getting a bit picky if you are going for specific sizes. - Posted from rhpmobile

I don't think anyone should have to hang with larger or smaller people to make themselves feel better. But I agree with you on the hypocrisy between using fat vs skinny. Skinny isn't always a compliment. Body shaming in general is disgusting - and yet people continue to subject others to it despite it making no difference whatsoever. I feel like saying to the shamers "So, hows that working out for you? Solved the worlds obesity problems yet, or eating disorders?" It does nothing but make someone with an issue even more conscious of it. And what do they do? Turn to their coping mechanism - food or binging etc. People want to help? Stop shaming or righteous bragging, educate and inspire.

It's so subjective. I'm a size 16 - I'm also 5'10" so I look very different to a size 16 who's 4'10" I could also probably bench-press that person, so another size 16 who doesn't exercise and doesn't have much muscle mass will again look different to me.Am I overweight? Absolutely! Am I obese and a bit of a worry? Not according to my doctor. I have a good hip to waist ratio (under 0.8), normal blood pressure and cholesterol and I am physically fit.... But that's the problem when you start to judge everyone by the same stick, it makes me want to hit you around the head with it

I think it all comes down to how you perceive yourself. I think most people have a fairly good idea whether they are small/medium/large short/average/tall short/average/John Holmes flat/average/large. Just put what you think you are. You will be right (for yourself) and probably right for most other people - Posted from rhpmobile

I'm taking a break from RHP but still reading the fora on occasion. I saw this thread and though I would add my thoughts. I'm 5'11 and I am certainly no twig nor am I a whale! I have average on my profile as that's what I believe my body size to be. My dress size depends on the brand I purchase - it can be a 12,14 or 16. My bra size is a 14c or 16c - again based on the brand. My BMI falls within the average/healthy range but another kilo or two and it's outside that. I swam a lot as a child which gave me broad shoulders and increased lung capacity (my rib cage is slightly longer and deeper than most). Having 2 very large babies by c section did my tummy no favors so I doubt I'll ever regain that 6pack ;) Some men think I'm thin, others athletic while others agree with the 'average' description. Most think I'm just right for bed and if anyone thinks I'm fat then they certainly haven't said so. Some days I feel fat - ladies I think we all have those!! Other days I feel slim, trim and terrific. Mostly I like my body as it is soft in the right places and firm and tight where it counts - god bless the Kegels!! I keep my pictures up to date and have 1 or 2 in my PG that show my body. If I choose to open my gallery and my body size or shape is not what the other person is looking for then that's fine. I'm a grown up and know people have preferences. I let them decide. Having someone decide arbitrarily that a 14 or 16 dress size makes me fat or a 8 makes another woman skinny is being very judgmental. There is no objective or consistent method of deciding body size. A bit like the one size fits all... they are always too short for me! P S And I believe the same applies to men ....

So, if we use the term "average" in the way we are meant to, using objective and not subjective analysis, then given the sheer numbers of Sizes 14, 16 and 18 women traipsing around town, I'd say Sizes 14, 16 and 18 are the real average sizes. You often see clothes in Sizes 14, 16 and 18 being sold out faster than the smaller sizes (under 10), so that is either a giveaway regarding the real average sizes, or smaller sized women are spending less on attire than the average ladies. I can think of a few more possibilities. Then again, if one's social circle happens to have more Size 6 ladies, as far as those ladies go, 6 is average and anything above that is large. If one mixes with or is surrounded by Size 20 ladies, then that, to them, is their average. It's too subjective and a reflection of one's mindset. If someone had asked me a year ago, I'd think I was obese. Eight years ago, I'd think I was morbidly obese using the Asian yardstick. Today, I'd tell you that I'm "spectacularly fuckalicious at whatever size". But my personal yardstick is to never exceed a Size 14 for tops and a Size 16 for bottoms. Incidentally, sizing and cut differs - I have Size 10, 12 and 14 tops, and Size 14, 16 and 18 bottom. There are bits I'd love to fix and I wish I could whittle down another 3-6 inches off my waist to accentuate the hourglass, but I think it's all about the proportions, the curves where there should be curves. Additional, there's the radiant glow of health, the agility and suppleness, the stamina mm and the gracefulness in movement...and in switching positions, which would be an absolute winner, no matter one's real size. Hehe! ;) I'd love to be a Size 10 but it's impossible because my hip bones are already palpable and you can't reduce bone width, so we'd have to be realistic here. In other words, one man's "average" is another man's "obese". Now, who cares what the haters think because haters are gonna hate hate hate hate hate... IMO, anyone who can't or won't dance is overweight...weighed down by a heavy-footed attitude! Hehe! :P

Well Ladies , coming from a 60 year old male that has had relationships with women of all body types and shapes , personally I have no preference and it seems to me that women rag on other women pretty bad, seen it first hand and never understood it. I have spent a few log ins rating +41 women in HOT or WHAT , and there are so many lovely ladies of all different shapes and sizes, and I appreciate the differences , I suppose if I had a particular 'type' I would say it would be Rubenesque ! For you young chicks look up what that means ! LOL ! I dated an athlete in my youth , a sprinter she was, legs that would put most top models to shame , walking down to Bondi Beach with her did the ego no harm at all and I have a head like a smashed crab !! But she turned into the jealous bitch from hell , whilst a ripped body certainly aids physical attraction , there comes a point when you realize that mental stimulation is just as important , I guess I am a bit of a sapiophile to ! So in conclusion work with the tools you have and for the sake of sanity Ladies when you put up a picture of yourselves , try smiling , it lights up your face and gives it a glow , leave those silly pouts to the porn starlets and and put your tongue away to , I know probably off topic but hey life is FUN , Have SOME !!

I get people throwing the 'old' word at me, big deal? Just the same as many people who have posted here saying size doesn't matter, aren't they the people you would rather connect intimately with? Exactly the same with my age, if it's not to someone's taste, well they're not for me. Plenty who are attracted, regardless of age, and there are plenty who are attracted, regardless of size. So long as you're happy, then who cares?

IRL, I'm usually the one who doesn't dance because I'm too self-conscious and I can only dance when I'm alone at home. I'm not going to explain the puns because that's just sad. maybe a certificate of clearance isn't but it seems one of explanation is required sometimes ;) my whole post was a play on "Safety Dance" by Men With No Hats (yes, I knew you were joking)

I feel at the end of the day it is down to how you feel inside your own body. We are not all perfect and providing we do not upset others I don't see what all the fuss is about size. Just my thoughts. Be kind to each other.

Really? Darnit! There goes my opportunity to smack your bottom for being naughty! :D Ackley220, love your input! Reminds me of what a crowned beauty queen told me - the other contestants were all friendly because they didn't think she would win. But when she got crowned, suddenly, she was given the cold shoulder and all hell froze over! :P

To the person who suggested beating me around the head with a stick, for simply answering the op's question, um really? Ooh you have some some issues there sweetheart, you might want to take a look in the mirror 😉 and although I still haven't read all the comments, these topics, including this one raised by the op about size, highlights negative self image, an issue that those individuals need to deal with, but so defensive. You can't change how people view you, you can change how you view yourself, and you can change your physical self if you choose to or want to, it might not matter to you, but don't get nasty with other people for being honest or for not being overweight 😉

There is more to a person than the size label on their clothing. You can lose weight, you can't grow a decent personality.

Quoting 'EriS69' Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. or ~6.35kg on the metric scale. Is this call made in reference to any sin, or just Gluttony? Just throwing it out there... This is specifically intended as a joke and a play on words. (Making light of things if you will). I do recognise there are many reasons people may carry excess body weight. It's not often anyone invokes Religion on this site.

Quoting 'LittleGiant' Quoting 'langton11' For a lass of 155cm to 165cm IMO6 - eat more steak8 to 10 - nice12 can be nice dependent on where the weight is14 pushing the boundary for the same... B - lower side of averageC - higher side of averageD - significantDD - show off Let me 'weigh in' on the subject and respond directly to you Langton: I am 161cm, 58kgs, F cup boobs - (they aren't as huge as they sound because I'm only a size 6). I have already had steak 3 times this week, thank you very much As has already been said more than once, you can't generalise based on dress sizes when there are so many factors at play - doing so just offends people, whether intentionally or unitentionally through using hurtful labels like fat and skinny. Miss Little xx Hey Little, please don't take offense to what I said. Interestingly, my wife is 160cm at 56kg and she's mostly size 8 (sometimes a size 6 or 10 depending on the brand etc) but looks very similar to you body wise. You (and her) look fantastic imo p.s. those F's are incredible

"1999 METROPOLITAN HEIGHT AND WEIGHT TABLES FOR MEN AND WOMEN ON METRIC BASIS According to Frame, Ages 25-59 Weight in Kilograms (In Indoor Clothing)* *Indoor clothing weighing 2.3 kilograms for men and 1.4 kilograms for women. + Shoes with 2.5 cm heels Source of basic data Build Study, 1979. For purposes of this policy, either the BMI or the Metropolitan Life Tables may be used. Body mass index (BMI) according to a variety of weights and heights. ...that matters! You can have three Size 12's standing side by side and one will look average, another plump and the third one might look obese. The height, distribution of fat, quality of fat (ie. Firm vs Jiggly), the proportion of fat to muscles, one's body shape (ie. Apple / Rectangle / Pear / Hourglass, etc) all play a part! I'd probably be labelled obese by a few of you, but since none of my ex's and FWB's had issues with me, I suppose I'm Size Overweight to Obese... and still very fuckable, thank you very much! LOL! Even at my thinnest, I won't be a Size 10 - my bone structure ain't petite and I can't shave / chisel my bones. :P As long as pussy is Size Awesome Tightness... :D Hahaha!

has been discussed across a number of threads. For my own part in these various threads, I have sought to emphasise the health aspects in particular (as distinct from the aesthetic). I note the OP here has not asked as to anyone's opinion as to perceived attractiveness of any body type or size. She appears to ask for opinion as to the forum's perception of what dimensions constitute "skinny, average and overweight" - as such, it would appear to be a question of absolute numbers! The significance of the tables I have referenced in this thread (and their preceding issue/version in another thread), is that the data was derived from observation and measurement, rather than subjective opinion regarding appearance, or reliance upon something as tenuous as clothing sizes. It is widely recognised women's clothing sizes are wildly variable; so much so that clothing sizes are utterly useless as a guide to the actual size of an actual individual person*. A reading of the references will reveal how these stats are used** and how they have changed over time. They are not employed as 'hard and fast' rules; they may be (and frequently are) used as a guide (in a range of settings). The use of BMI has also been discussed extensively (both here and in the literature), and it is recognised there are additional factors to take into account when examining/ measuring parameters to determine states of health and physical wellbeing. * The way clothing designers intend/envisage their clothing will be worn (such as a loose fit or a form fit on the wearer). There is some variability observed in men's clothing sizes also, though significantly less so than in women's clothing. ** Bear in mind, these tables are produced by collaboration between the Health and the Insurance industries. I do not suggest sinister motives on their part. Rather, I would remind it always is worthwhile examining multiple reference sources and checking for corrolation.

Anyone who thinks the average Australian woman is a size 10, is deluded. Seriously people, do some research before you degrade women who are heavier than you or don't fit your idea of a 'perfect' size. - Posted from rhpmobile

I think the biggest issue here is the misrepresentation of size as opposed to the semantics around dress sizes. Which was addressed earlier, dress size is relative to actual body height and weight. I couldn't care less what your dress size says. It's when people will call themselves curvy when they are clearly overweight. "Curvy" seems to be this tool that larger people use to feel good about their apparent size. Whereas actual curvy means your have a natural genetic hourglass shape.

I'm happy with my "cotton wool" curvy - fwiw, I do have a naturally hourglass figure. I'm also a little overweight, and I'm completely upfront about that. What offends me more than BBW, curvy, and buxom as descriptors of someone with some curves is the cotton wool of "let's call a spade a spade" as a euphemism for "I'm going to be rude and try and enforce my reality as the only way to see the world around them, and screw anyone who thinks differently."

Ah, the hysterics argument. Let's accuse someone who disagrees with us as being hysterical to try and invalidate their opinion. That's a solid way to express disagreement. It's probably my ovaries clouding my judgment, perhaps influenced by all that excess fat. Don't let your mail privilege hit out on the backside as you leave.

Quoting 'PatchworkGirl' Don't let your mail privilege hit out on the backside as you leave. does he get free express delivery? I'd settle for a postie that actually delivers packages instead of just dropping a "you weren't home" card even when you were home all day! "Ah, lets toss out "male privilege" at someone who disagrees with us to try and invalidate their opinion. That's also a solid way to express disagreement." Some people have a perception of reality (or use terms suggestive of a reality) that is WAY off from anything approaching actual reality. I think DC and 50z were suggesting some people should use terms that are closer to actual reality than the cloud cuckoo land reality they've created in their head. Just because someone describes it as a girthy monster python, doesn't mean it is in reality.

Mail is so unreliable at this time of year, don't you think? ;-) I get what they were trying to say. My main frustration here is that when I express disagreement with them, I'm referred to as "hysterical". Having a difference of opinion doesn't make me hysterical, or incapable of expressing my ideas in a logical way, and the whole "hysterics" label has a sociohistorical context which makes me cringe. It's also, in this instance, blatantly incorrect. I'm always pretty measured in my forum responses, and in real life, and attempt to focus my discussions on ideas rather than on personal attacks. I don't think this time was any different - except, of course, until I dragged Australia Post into it. And, in that vein, I feel a little bad about wishing harm on you in the early hours of the morning, that50zguy, I hope your butt wasn't too bruised by the parcels I wished on you. ;-)
