I’ve noticed a bit of that..... grandstanding about ignoring people... then the jibes and replies kinda call out that fib and make them look pretty dopey I just laugh it off Something people really need to do more of in this asylum and reign in the ego challenges 😄 - Posted from rhpmobile

Wish it was ego, 2012 I think to 2016 maybe half a dozen posts, some of included in complete threads closed, or gone altogether, took a break for a year, had a dozen troubled teenagers under our wing facing the challenges with becoming institutionalised and all huddled up in a park of the nights, no one could answer to who was looking out for the kids, my ego had a sense of duty with care, (neglect of duty of care can be a criminal offense, I knew that, besides the reasoning), winter was setting in, so we took the kids in, worked with local authorities from the start of it when we informed them the kids were out the back safe, sleeping, eating and needed some mentoring as to principles they had none, and if we didn't try, they all were destined as the few caught up as petty thieves in and out of prison, sleepers, anti depressants, anti psychotic's, routine and home to them for the rest of their lives and they were prime candidates, no one questioned that, even agreed. Tough challenge, some unspeakable trauma's carried by most of them, four young girls who we gave a room that was lockable so that when the time came the creeps grooming them would approach expecting payment for the gifts given. We promised the girls we would protect them so that they could make a choice for themselves and not for anyone who expects choice (sexual favours nine out of ten) None of those kids have been taken into the system, most are at home with parents, who had parents, some found work, the boys are boyfriends of the girls, safe now from the creeps on their tails, one boy with his mum and receiving his medication from Paella mental health and a thank you from his mother for helping to get him there, well over due. I don't believe I act on ego impulses as much guided by principles, I make mistakes, I learn from them and no matter how embarrassing, humiliating, uneasy I feel when doing so, I don't hide from them. My intensions are rarely for self benefit or ego in that matter. I lost IP during the time away and contacted the RHP and were given IP back. Yeah, half a dozen posts in 6 years and first four years could never remember where 'q' was on my type writer. I made a mistake worried of something more important, I am glad to have made the mistake all except any feelings Candy were hurt, a consequence I will cary with any karma begun it's course. Just not ego Candy. (i'de be ashamed if it were, id'e like to be able to look you in the eyes if the chance permits, purely of respects and something you deserve sincere) I don't think it's ego is it ?

Was going to post this on one of the song threads but figured no better time and place than here now. Walk a mile in my shoes - Joe South and the believers Grew up with this song on a favourite early 70's album but by unknown negro artists. The album was called Freedom Road and I still have it.

It's on one of my Facebook groups. "Walk a mile in my shoes, see what I see, hear what I hear, feel what I feel, THEN maybe you'll understand why I do what I do. 'till then don't judge me." And before that quote was a far more personal account of their shoes that I can't share here because of copyright. But yeah I'd rather people had no idea what it was like to wear my shoes, ever.

Aren't we all really Pangolin? It is absolutely possible to feel more than one way about the same thing, as well as being a deep puzzle. I doubt most of us understand ourselves. If any. I'm not laying too many claims as I bumble around. Mr, funny that... My worst series of dreams, I had more than one night. I was running around the track and had no shoes on, I'd stop, put 'em on and go through the whole routine again. So much like one of those, "I need to go to toilet dreams" in the repetitiveness, but completely different in the sense of wearing the skin down on my feet.

Animals are amazing. My daughter has two cats and (my grandkids) a boy and a girl and more recently adopted a dog he's a real scallywag. The story about the cats the male is black and white he was adopted we believe he was about 6 months old at the time, a friend of my daughters did that as an 18th B'day pressie for her, the female is half Burmese she has the grey with some white markings,we got her when she was 10 weeks old through one of my daughters friends. I can still remember how our boy was smooching us saying pick me at the shelter and then bringing him home and opening up the box with him being a little unsure, not for long though and our little girl, she is a small cat, got her home, my daughter kept her in her room initially while both cats could get used to each other, they've never gotten along but they tolerate each other..When my daughter had our little girl in her room she tried to keep in a safe space as in a makeshift barricade around which was useless and didn't last long lol because of course, she would jump or climb out..We have no idea about our boys' history he can be a bit temperamental and doesn't like to be held or patted for too long but no major probs. Our little girl to me has a lot of Burmese traits, she talks a lot, follows us around like a dog, loves bum gentle taps she is a bit of a grumpy cat which she makes us laugh with her ferocious growls and she also answers to the other names as well and we quite often call her princess. My daughters' housemate moved to Melbourne with two cats that were adopted as well as also adopting a dog here too, there are too many animals in the household, none are neglected in any way and are all loved which is wonderful but my concern is that if anything goes terribly wrong neither could afford the massive vet bills, it's unfortunate that adopting the dogs was not thought through properly and done to me in an impulsive manner. they are all loved but as a mum, I am concerned about how my daughter would cope if the worst happened.

my daughter adopted was one of three dogs rescued at the time the orginisation wanted to rescue the others, all three were chained for a majority of their lives, our boy is the youngest of the dogs we think he's about three yrs, he was taken to my daughters home and fostered from the rescue and of course now adopted. He's seems pretty happy he's a very active boy, he loves his squeaky toys and if you throw the ball for him and he brings it back, if you are busy sorting through a box of things he'll drop the ball into the box lol he's a gorgeous scallywag.

When I was young, all the spoils of my fishing went to the cats I lived with. I was the only one in the family who fished. I wonder if the cats ever appreciated me for that? For all the little( and mostly ) Fingermarks, I provided for them? Probably not. Cats are like that. But I love them anyway.

I dunno about my cooking skills....I rarely cook for people so I’m a bit without feedback... However, I’m not much of a fish eater either...I love to just pull a fish out of the water identify it and appreciate it before throwing back to go about its business....unless it’s a carp of course ... but even then they’re a species still worthy of appreciation despite not being allowed to return them back alive - Posted from rhpmobile

Being on the water fishing or at the waters edge fishing is relaxing, weather catching fish or not. I have great friends, to reverse boat off trailer and then drive it back on after fishing is a great bonus. Less time around edge of water in this neck of the woods, is always good. Plus kids even now as adults love going out and relaxing or fishing. All the kids are currently looking, forward to taking the new generation of the family fishing soon after they can walk.

We had a boat a few years ago when the kids were little. I didn’t really care about the fishing much, happy to go out in the late arvo just after dark, drop anchor 500m off the beach, get on the P155 with a friend. Sleep on the boat, wake the next day, go for a look around and just enjoy the mateship and being out on the water for something different. Funny having the kids though, eldest was about 3 years old so I cut all the hooks off a bright pink lure and put a heap of sinkers on it so we could cast it out a long way... then gave him the rod and let him reel it in... he loved catching his little pink fishy.

Up the Murray with a few friends and one of them was in a hour or so fight through snags logs and bushes with a lovely Murray Cod. Absolutely shit scared of snakes and to see his reaction as a bloody big tiger slithered between his legs was priceless. My mate and I were at Eppalock down the river off the side of the spillway, walking along the path and a huge browny crossed my path, my mate was killing himself laughing as he reckoned I looked like a freaking antelope leaping backwards. Shit just realised half you bastards won't even know of Eppalock

And Rubi I'd like to see an attempt at that disguise. Was out at one time and my young accomplice had just bought a flash new Mepps spinner. His first cast went straight up and got stuck in a tree he was near inconsolable so I cast my tassie devil up there to keep it company and that cheered the little bugger up. I have no issue with how anyone chooses to live their life, fuel their body etc. What I detest to always is the militant group of vegans and other groups. You know the ones that seem to think that you’re the sole cause of the wrongs of the world all because you consume the very things they don’t and they feel a need to convert you like a Waco Texas style cult following.... I’m sure they get kick backs from some kind of vegan god or something like 72 virgin violets or something when they die... Anyway.... I can’t wait until I’m sitting at my table about to hook in to my deliciously seasoned scotch fillet beef dinner and one of these social assassins tries their convert the masses like a door knocking religious group as I have a question or 10 for them. I wanna know if they are ok with eating food that contains wheat, because we behead the plant then we proceed to flog the dismembered head until it’s children are released before grinding it into the flour that we make bread etc... I wanna know why they are wearing clothing containing cotton or any plant based product as even plants have a physical response to the trauma inflicted upon it, so it can be assumed safely that both plants and animals feel the same things.... And finally if we stop harvesting plant based products for the same reason we stop the senseless murderous type of harvesting of our meat, wtf are we gonna eat and wear?? - Posted from rhpmobile

Risky one bringing up the vegan thing as they can be very passionate about this subject and I can understand that yet I'm no vegan. There are so many militant groups out there as you say Anti but one of my favourites that I say to those going on animal eating rants is. We have farmed these animals for a specific reason so why not farm humans they might just taste fantastic but that would be just wrong wouldn't it . Gets a rise out of most A bit like as I am a full on animal lover and studied conservation and land (idiot) I realised after the first year it was pointless as I won't kill any animal and rabbits, foxes, cane toads etc really do need to get the fuck out of our country so that blew that one. But when you go out checking on bird counts using netting to catch, weigh and see if they are female or male and other animals like this, I would say damn I wish there were giants around that pick us humans up fondle harass and piss us off just so we knew how fucked up it is to do this to animals. Others would hate me for it but shoe on the other foot I say.

What would vegan hardliners (hopefully not the average vegan) say about using something like Charlie Carp fertilizer, made from an introduced pest that has nothing but destructive consequences on our native fish and ecosystems. Like pangolin said, can we catch and eat rabbit? After all, every rabbit down is one better for the native environment not to mention plant agriculture. If chickens are our "friends", and so we have one as a pet, do we through away the eggs it will inevitably lay? I have a pet dog, there is actually a place that will make yarn and therefor clothing out of shed dog hair. Is he harmed? Yes it's risky voicing your opinion when there is risk of a militant lynch mob coming after you, or just coming while you're eating dinner. Thus I would never raise such views on say, Facebook, unless I had a fake account. However I did grow up as an atheist among Christians, and no loss of friendships as a result. I'm happy to accept other people's choices, as long as it remains a choice for both parties. - Posted from rhpmobile

When i moved from Brissy to Perth in early 2009, i had a freight company collect my couple of cubic metres of stuff( about the size of a small pallet ) and rode my bike over with a 50lt bag on the back of it. Took me about 11 days to get here, and the removalists held onto my stuff untill I had a home for them to deliver to....which took me 2 weeks. I think it cost me about $1600 for the freight, which i was happy with. Id considered flying over, but it was too good an oportunity for a roadtrip to miss. It was all made quite simple, really. Having enough money to cover expenses was most important, i found...I wasnt expecting it to take me 2 weeks to find accomodation when I got here.

Just popping my head in. I am in Kalgoorlie atm, was having a good time with my lover but unfortunately she had to go back to work, alas I am now galavanting around the country solo!! Met some really cool people along the way that invited us into their homes to spend the night.. yes that kind of hospitality still exists in the land of Oz. One couple we met own a gold mining lease and have no clue how to find gold.. I have been educating them.. well until the bloody rain came yet again and pushed us out, just as I found a good looking spot. Hopefully a couple of clear days and I can get back in there with them and we see what they have. I am kind of amazed to find people owning a gold lease and absolutely no clue how to find gold. I now have all sorts of specimens from some of the shops here and what we picked up ourselves too. Bismuth.. so beautiful, natural silica carbide, Galena crystals, copper ore, I forgot the name but a rock containing tiny rubies and and and so much more. I am happy as a pig in shit.. now just have to find some gold! Is Baaaaarnby still in office, if he is my god what a sad statement for our nation he is.
