SLUTS

May 15 2013

That title brought to you by the term 'Click Bait'.Though, it's not just a cynical use of sensationalism to play upon people's natural curiosity and entice them to click on my post, it is both a topic that is of interest to me, and after reading a couple of posts here, a topic that is of interest to most people. So, Sluts. Commonly thought of as a derogatory word for women who actively pursue and enjoy, and/or are vocal about the pursuit and/or enjoyment of sex.Women who like to fuck, in other words. Women who like to fuck lots of people. The term is an expressly derogatory word for women, as while it is used for men - sometimes in an attempt to be also derogatory - it does not have the same effect for men as it does for women. Indeed, one can happily use the word at any man, and be answered with an, at worst, sheepish grin. Typically it would be met with a sense of pride.Back to the post: Sluts = Women who like to fuck. The derogatory nature of this has long been something that has puzzled me. Why do we put women who enjoy sex down, in this manner - particularly as men?To me, don't most men want women to have sex with them? In which case, why would we put down a woman who shares the same point of view: i.e. Sex is great and I should be having more, often. That is, in discouraging this behaviour through the denigration of women who engage in the pursuit of sex, are men not just ruining it for themselves, by firstly shaming said women into being less open about sex, and in the process discouraging other women from being more open about their sexuality, and their enjoyment of it?Why then do men call women who also pursue sex sluts? The answer, it seems to me to be, like many examples of similar bullying behaviour to be more about the insult-or, rather than the insult-ee. To me, when men call women sluts, its not because those women are having sex, per se...... it is because those women are not having sex with the men in question, specifically. That is, the use of the word slut, and the whole notion behind it is largely just one big case of sour grapes. Oh, she likes to fuck, but she's not fucking me - she's a slut. To me, there is no such thing. Or, there should not be, for anyone. For a number of reasons, but for any guys reading this that have found themselves thinking like this, or do in fact think like this, let's just take the most obvious and selfish one for now - let's just think of our own dicks. I'm sure we can manage that.Ok, so - you're reading this post, which means you're on RHP, which means you're actively looking for sexual partners: casual, not so casual, whatever. Women who are active about the pursuit and enjoyment of sex are as a result your favourite people. Their behaviour of seeking out sexual partners, and enjoying sex is a behaviour YOU WANT TO ENCOURAGE, and encourage, regardless of whether you are going to directly benefit from a particular person or not. The reason is, while you may not get that little hottie you just messaged/hit on at a bar or whatever, through encouraging - or at least NOT ACTIVELY DISCOURAGING IT - said behaviour, you will encourage a culture where women are able to feel more able to express themselves sexually, which means that more women will make themselves more available to your amazing amazingess, and thus eventually you will get laid.By calling women sluts for enjoying sex, you are making it less likely for you to get more sex.Bottom line: Sex is fucking rad, for many, many reasons. We should be encouraging more of it, not making it culturally difficult in a childish, petulant fit of inadequacy. There are no sluts. There are only women who will not have sex with you. But, chin up, there are still some left who will. Only you can fuck this up for you.

Do lots of men call women sluts? I find women seem to use the term more frequently myself. To me a slut is someone who sleeps around a lot with new people not someone who enjoys sex or is sexually confident. I also think you have assumed that men have some huge influence over women when I don't think that is the case for strong confident women. Call me a slut and I will tell you to fuck off. :) There are some men who think sexually adventurous women are okay to fuck but they are not the sort of girl you take home to mother. And what do you mean men should encourage women to sleep around? Is that the same as men dominate women in the bedroom and decide what they should do.

I would say that the term is used liberally, yes. But, regardless, I think the word itself is without value. Your definition is just as arbitrary and, well, baseless as the alternative you've provided. Those men you mention are, as far as im concern, immature, and emotionally stunted. Who gives a fuck whether the woman you 'take home to mother' has had a lot of partners? Someone who is too self-conscious and immature, that's who.No, I'm not saying men should encourage women to sleep around. I'm saying men should at the very least not discourage women to be more open about their sexuality and their enjoyment of sex - whether thats with one partner or many, and ideally be more encouraging of such. In short, im talking about the culture of labeling women sluts, rather than specific cases of 'slutty' behaviour.

Never have I had the need to call any woman a slut and never meet a woman who has made me feel I should. The word 'slut' is meant to degrade any woman who likes sex by other women who deep down wish they were they could be the same... or lowlife guys who mentally try to belittle a woman in attempt to boost their own ego... I've been lucky enough to be with women who know the more they put into sex, the more they get out of it.. To me that's smart' not at all slutty... Jay....

Great topic innerwest123.   I've never understood the whole slut thing.   If a woman wants to be promiscuous than that is her choice.   I know some women do identify themselves as sluts and that is their choice - all the power to them.   Our sexuality chooses us, we don't choose it. Some people repress their sexuality and others embrace it.   Cheating, spreading STDs and using sex to abuse people emotionally or physically are the real sex negatives.   I do get into a quandary about sluts because I have had this conversation with female partners in the past. Some of them don't believe my view on sluts and others are amazed that I don't demonise woman as sluts. The quandary arises when I know they want me to call them a slut during dirty talk and wicked sex and sometimes they look at me knowing that I don't mean it. I tell them I've been forced to make an exceptions for them because they are the first and only true slut I have ever met.   I didn't get laid in high school and I could never fathom why all these guys I want to school with referred to the girls they had sex with as sluts (never to their face ofcourse). Once I started having sex I was, and always have been, SOOOO grateful to the girls, chicks, ladies and women who have let me into their lives and lust   I love and admire fearless, liberated, free-spirited women. They live full, colourful, exciting, fun-filled lives and do more living than most of the people in this world. Good on em!   This whole demonising of girls/women and sex probably started thousands of years ago to stop young girls getting knocked up and used.   Any other views on how it all started?

“Everyone judges constantly: positively judging one person is the same as negatively judging everyone else; it is to say that that person is superior in some sense.” ― Criss Jami, Venus in Arms“All the whispering, glaring, pointing and judging makes them no better than whoever or whatever it is they're gossiping about.” ― Tiffany KingMeeka has a valid point. When two or more women meet, they can be vicious, particularly towards other women...and men too. However, the two quotes above says it all. Innerwest, most people are judgmental and they show it in one form or the other. However, quite a few of these people have been found to do the very thing they rail against. I guess it is human nature, to feel superior by putting down others because they are different from them. We fear change and want to control things. Most of us like the familiar. If it or in this case, the woman, does not conform to our perception of what she should do, then we attack her character. After all, we don't need proof, it is for her to defend herself even (especially?) if it is not true.

Umm, part of me takes offence at the term 'slut' and part of me doesn't. I have NEVER been called one, nor do I believe I am one - in fact, I'm not even sure I could define it in a way that's meaningful to me.The only time I've heard it banded around broadly was in high school - and that always seemed a bit odd to me.Having said then, I understand that I have an 'inner slut' that I tap into when I'm feeling particularly naughty. I don't know who 'she' is, where she comes from or where she goes - but I know she's there, lurking. If a playmate called me a slut under any circumstances, I'd bite their balls off and show them the door. Fact. But why I feel content with 'my inner slut' is all a big puzzle . Some things are best not to ponder too deeply.

Are just women who have the morals of a man....why is it such a bad thing?? But don't forget, there's a huge difference between slut and slutty....not to mention those lovely women that - in the throws of passion - will use the term slut toward themselves even.... Then again I very rarely worry about wasting my energies worrying about a lot of things like this. - Posted from rhpmobile

A man will approach such a woman, hoping to attract and seduce her..... so clearly she is acceptable to him and his sexual desires, preferences and standards. That woman denies his advances...... also exercising her preferences and standards then, ... earns his scorn, labelled as a slut.So.... to him she was fair game, until... she denied him. Then, she suddenly became unacceptable.Very childish and hypocritical, really.Ive never liked the word, as it is generally used as a derogatory assault upon someone...... but... it can be fun and exciting to her when used within the direct context of heightened sexual arousal.DG

As I said, I very rarely worry about pointless things like this....I hate the word personally, but I found that opening statement in my previous post on Facebook, and I found it to be highly amusing. This is because by men calling a woman a slut - on the above quote - they are actually calling their own morals a slut. Geese and ganders. - Posted from rhpmobile

I tiptoed back down thehall to my friends room, mortified and afraid   it went on and on, my fathers friend after touching me up at 15 saying come on I know your a little cock teasing slut   I was a virgin till 18 when my boyfriends brother decided to take what did not belong to him because he thought i was just a slut and he got a shock after he hurt me that I was a virgin   so now I hide my sexuality untill I am around people I trust, I am very sexual I love sex but i have worn that brand in a mean way from idiot people and I refuse to give anyone the dhance to call me that again.   it can be a fun thing, the inner slut but you can call me that in the bedroom when your pulling my hair or talking dirty to me but I will throw my drink over you ifyou every speak like that to me in public   it still is the same today as back then, trust me I have two daughters and they use it to speak of other women in that way and I tell them off if I hear them   and like the op said sluts are called that by men because they are fucking every one but them.   no body puts this baby in a corner again..

In my opinion, anyone that calls a woman slut or slutty (especially men) should be thrown into Time Machine and send them back to the time before human race was created and let them get done by whatever that was around in those ages to teach them how to show some manners and respect for women!!! I have zero tolerance for people who have zero manners and respect for others, especially for women!!! So if anyone calls me slut in my face, that person/people will sure be taught a hell of lesson by me!!! Grow up and be a good human beings for RHP sake!!! Lol- Posted from rhpmobile

I agree that men use the term to demean a woman or use it if she has rejected them but I also believe that anyone who uses that term believes it too. Those men would believe most women are sluts. Otherwise why even use the term at all? I don't and most people I know don't. So it's good if I hear a guy say that, I can pretty safely assume that he is a narrow minded pig that probably has sex in two positions and only cares about his own pleasure. In fact someone to be avoided at all costs. Just too boring!!

I have to agree in that it is really a term that can be construed and used as a derogatory put down.Bandied around by the immature, it has become sullied, and tantamount to the most offensive description for a woman. That said, as some of us blokes get older, we find that this is NOT a derogatory word at all, and rather, describes the type of woman we love!As with many filth words, context is EVERYTHING - but i do LOVE when Mrs Ruff "Sluts" it up

Was very very Interesting...Definition from Wikipedia."Slut Shaming is defined as the act of making a woman feel guilty or inferior for engaging in certain sexual behavours that deviate from tradition or orthodox gender expectations"I believe.... women who call other women a "Slut" is because they are competing for a mans attention or approval, a way of having empowerment among other women. To be on top of the pecking order- makes themselves look like goody-two shoes...They go and "Slut-shame" - when in fact they are trying to cover up their own sexual behavours. When in fact these women wish they were like them.I think "society" needs to put a stop to the word Sl*t and to stop shaming others...it really is a double standard in society. What ever happened to just accepting people for "who they are"???FOXY

Nooooooo.. having a 3 sum doesn't make you a slut at all.. These days we are mature enough to know what we want and letting go and enjoying yourself doesnt make you a slut.. I take it 'it was hubby and a guest . If it was, I think it natural to think back after the excitement dies down and have some self doubts' specially if it was a first. We spend a lifetime of thinking it taboo so you cant expect to be perfect overnight.. Many women think and secretly wish about a 3 sum.. Others get out and enjoy it... You did.. happy days....

She's a executive in a large company and butter would not melt in her mouth. The hair' the manicured nails ' the heels ' the immaculate clothes' the deportment' the manners ' the lip stick' the intelligence and of course her ever strong presence The perfect lady in every sense of the word you would say ' but away from the pressures a outright devil between the sheets' so much so she refers to herself as showing the " slutty side " of her personality' which in her words ' balances things out '... Her vocabulary becomes earthy as if another person stepped up and took control.. However' once dressed , goes right back to being the lady... SO ? a slut... ? No, just a woman who knows what she about and knowing when to let go.... and thats all... PS.. Dont most women like to be the lady in everyday life yet let loose once they get behind closed doors ? and being refered to as a slut or feeling that way in the heat of the moment ? No sluts' just the girls getting their rocks off ... I would consider that perfectly normal....

hmm I think the use of the term has come out of when people generally someone who has themselves a low self esteem or for what ever reason feels the need to put others down so they don't enjoy themselves to make the person using the phrase feel better about themselves because they cant or wont ,do ,say, be (whatever there trying to repress in others) its is typical bully behaviour, or stand over tactics there are many names for this, for me a slut is me I enjoy sex I enjoy lots of sex and thow I would love a partner(and im currently single and looking) I like many partners and I like to see my partner pleasured by other partners no different to enjoying a sport with your mates except sex is a game played body to body and the body is the playing field or as one singer quoted the body as a playground/theme park whos coming for a ride. its when its used as a means to belittle someone as some words tend to have their meaning changed it becomes an issue, or when taken outta txt. thow I have found in all my time the only thing that has remained ok in the use of the word is when one describes their own behaviour its ok when used to describe someone elses behaviour is degrading... so why not just remove it all together after all aren't we just swingers doesn't that describe our behaviour more accurately(ps sorry folks I cant spell never could proberbly never will )

I'm reminded of that old saying: slut is a girl who will fuck anyone, bitch is a girl who will fuck anyone but you. I think it's not quite accurate in that what mainly lies behind the use of the term like slut is resentment - resentment that there is a woman out there who has a lot of sex, I.e. the sort of a woman that a lot of males, particularly younger ones, dream about, and yet she is not available for you. Not that I have actually heard this word used recently in anything but jest, but I bet that if more of emotionally immature men were getting more sex there would be a lot less name calling. And don't get me started on the history of sexuality, particularly female sexuality, and why the term like "slut" is a consequence of factors as diverse as evolutionary biology and succession and property law.

I have come across a few matriarchal societies around the world, where the succession laws go to the wife or daughters. It is interesting to note that the neighbouring states/countries think this it is something aberrant and needs to be corrected to fit the norm, i.e. succession laws favour males rather than females. I find it intriguing that males say they are more logical hence they should make rational decisions regarding business. However, this forum and pretty much life shows that men can be easily led by women, thus doing what they want. Oh, what does this have to do with the topic? Nothing I guess, although you could say that those men feel emasculated and are trying to exert some power, be it by name calling.

To me, the word slut is not derogatory.... well maybe more the case I refuse to see it as derogatory. In my way of thinking a slut is a sexually empowered woman, whether they sleep with lots of people casually... or not many people or something more serious. When men have called me a slut.. its been in the most 'kindest' and affectionate terms.... and that is where it should sit. No woman should be afraid of being called a slut. It's great to read so many positive views on the word... shows to me that people are far more open minded nowadays and that is never a bad thing. :)

Yeah, men hate sluts and sluts hate men, it's just never going to work ;) A slut is what you call a woman that refuses to show you her tits, when you know full well that she's got some and no doubt she's been showing them to her husband. But slut is also what you call a woman who tells you to spank her arse and call her a slut. Poor insecure, incredibly hot and twisted women that they are and the terrible men with whom they interface. I guess it's missionary all the way for some of you guys? - Posted from rhpmobile

And I don't like the word. I also don't like to be around males who have pee brains. I grow up in a Pub and it always shocked me how the male stands there with his friends, a women comes in and he talks bad about her, then a short while later ends up in the toilet block and fucks her, what a wimp. This behavior always stunt me.I don't like men who still live in the middle ages with their behavior towards women. I thought the sexual liberation started in the late sixties, have all this males been hiding in a cave. And when you think so many young males use the word today too, you really start thinking why are we still stuck in this old shitty behavior? Many men have to work on this and educate their sons to treat women right and embrace open sexual liberated women. In my opinion, as long as we use words like this and keep using this negative words in context with sex and sexuality we never been totally free of negativity towards it.Sex will never be without guilt when we don't start using better words for it.Just for one moment sit there and think about all the bad words we are using in our vocabulary in sex, it will blow your mind. That's my opinion.Maybe this sound boring in today world or on RHP.However how can we start changing something when no one starts.Sex is fun, beautiful, a must for our health, a stress reliever, a happy drug, I am fighting negative words around sex.Happy sexing to all of you.

Having been in the swinging/gangbang/orgy scene for a number of years I have learnt a lot about this word and its use so I'll go through a few of my ideas here. The word "slut" is a vulgar, ugly sounding word and I have often wanted, better sounding word I could use in it's place and had "libertine" suggested to me during a chat on an adult site. I like it. While I do use the word slut frequently and to a lady's face (I do believe a lady can also be a slut) I do not use it to put a person down, in public excluding the "scene", or with a lady who fits my meaning of the word, their opinion as well, but who I know doesn't like the word (bring on libertine). There is no meaning within the word slut with regards to a lady's sexual availability to me. A slut doesn't have to be active or even promiscuous at all times in her life. She just needs that particular mindset available in her character and can even be more faithful than some not so "slutty" ladies as she may have a better understanding of sex, love and emotions.

That last comment was mistakenly sent before I finished. Hopefully this time I'll finish. Most ladies I'd put in this group have had a very long think about their morality, what they enjoy, and who they might hurt. In many instances they are in successful marriages and have been in the slut life style for many of those years. In other cases they have been widowed, or had to leave abusive marriages, and only then start to explore their sexuality. A slut doesn't have to be active or even promiscuous at all times in her life. She just needs that particular mindset available in her character and can even be more faithful than some not so "slutty" ladies because she more knows herself, what she wants, and how to maintain control.   Just to put things a bit more into perspective there is a very intelligent, classy, beautiful well mannered lady/slut I know who is now in a monogamous relationship (not with me damn it lol ). At parties she would start by having sex with someone she liked and trusted then not stop depending on availability until the end of the night. She only refused if the person was too overweight or unhygienic.

My 2 bob is that the answer is different for men and women. When you say "we" I'll assume you mean menGenerally speakinga) Women need only 'choose' who they will have sex with while men have to work hard and compete to get chosen. Those women that understand this dynamic and wield the power openly, threaten the male's ability to lay claim to any skill / prowess / attractiveness.b) Our culture is largely monogamous and those women that do 'make hay while the sun shines' are automatically ascribed the inability to refrain in a theoretical default monogamous relationship.Women that call other women sluts is much easier to understand - plain old jealousy / envy.

I thought a cad was a born-into-wealth gambler who lost the family fortune, and a rake was an aristocratic adulterer. I think the term slut and whore should be lost in the past like those words, only insecure people use them (unless you're taking it back, like in a slutwalk)

Society makes unrealistic and unfair judgements. If I plant my magic mushroom in a lady ( two consenting adults who have fun) the society says he is sowing oats. But what of the lady.. Oh no no no. The evil fornicator they say. That "word" is used. But a lady has urges too. So why judge by that label. I find a lady with urges and who actively pursues them can be fun and I would actively seek to meet up with her and have fun together. My concern would be with the person who wants to try to treat other poorly. Ie a bastard or a bitch. They are the shits and the ones who are deserving of terrible labels.

Yes, it's an incredibly loaded term.   I've always refused to use the term and label women who overtly advertise their sexual wares. Same for women who like to sleep around.. a LOT.   I respect women and that's their choice. It really shits me that guys get the slap on the back and the woman in the equation put down in the locker room etc. In reality half of the guys slapping their 'mate' on the back probably want to be with the woman as she may well be their sexual superior and more confident.   And what's up with guys who like to share locker rooms and negate women anyway!? LOL. Locker room - or closet?   Now is the tricky bit. I've recently been blessed to have met and begun exploring all kinds of lovely kink with a fantastic woman I adore. She is far more versed in the darker arts than I and yet I have assumed a dominant role (which I am loving). She likes, and wants to be called a slut when we are playing.. Hmm..   Now I struggle with this a bit (although her reactions and pleasure have made it easier) and in reality SLUT does not fall easily from my palate. I only use it as I adore this woman and she gets off on it. It has been easier each time, but just last night I had to ensure a basically vanilla (or approximation) playtime was had, just to get back to some intimacy/normalcy/respect. For myslef I don't want to fall into a situation where my ego gets out of control and I find myself desensitised to SLUT, and or other play.   It's obviously all in the useage and reception but for me that term has so much baggage.   Any other ladies like it? (Apologies if I have missed your prev post) Ever had partners refuse to use it?   FFB xx

If they want to be a slut it's their life and their choice just use protection.I love sex and have a high sex drive but I do not class myself as a slut I have standards and wont just fuck someone cause I'm frisky ...I also hate when men use the word "dirty slut" in the bedroom its demeaning and to me not a "sexy word" to get me in the mood just thought id mention that lol

It's been great reading everyone's opinions, but unfortunately it's a word that has been around since the 1400's and doesn't seem to be going anywhere. I have a son that has turned 20, and was mortified to hear him and his friends using the word so freely. I can sprout how I brought him up to know better...but it's something that we have no control of, what people say and where. I think the sign of maturity or actually my sign of maturity is to not let those types of words affect me, "slut, promiscuous, whore". Sex is amazing and beautiful and while I can still enjoy it I'm going to have as much as possible :-).

Most live in the right now. I personally believe forethought is always better than hindsight. Oh, and for most of the guys I know, given a chance they would get a chastity belt for their daughters and a few have described in great detail what they would do to any guy who touches their daughter in inappropriate places. Lets just say it makes water boarding look pleasant.

I think the only time men say this is when he has worked hard to provide. Given all there is he can give and she just walks off example my ex took off with another man because he was wealthy so I call her a 2 bit slut.. Women can enjoy sex as much as a man so let them have fun but if they say they love you want you need you then bugger off men have the right to say what they want hey its 2013 LOL

I read the same Slut Shaming topic. I also think when another woman refers to another like that it's because they are jealous or insecure. Been the recipient of this in the workplace because I was "likeable" and "respected" amongst or predominantly male counterparts. Was it true about me no, not in that contaxt. Another definition years sho was: Slut : a woman who has sexual relations with married men. Ok guilty. But it's an ugly word. A bit like Cunt especially when it comes from a ladies mouth. (Note to self ~ Self refrain refrain refrain, there are other derogatory words more approriate, classy and befitting of you!!) sigh I'm not a perfect person and never claimed to be.
