Quoting 'aries77' I've ridden bikes my whole life. It's a way of life. Don't want to imagine life with out a bike. My pride and joy is my 2011 "48" ive spent the past 3 years customising it to something awesome. I love that people call them girls bikes and give me shit about ridding a sportster. Cos my pride and joy isnt your average sporty. Putting out 118hp - Posted from rhpmobile I absolutely love the 48's, i think they have that awesome old school cool look about them. Actually thinking about adding one to my quiver soon

Always remember ,it's there when you need it ,and just waiting for that gorgeous butt to sit on the seat and ride it again when the time is right .store it right out it on a trickle charger with only a small amount of fuel and it will be siting there waiting with baited breath for your return , - Posted from rhpmobile

Quoting 'Eiliethiya' on mine tomorrow afternoon...to take my baby out to be stored at my sister's property Moving house with nowhere to keep my stuff sucks right about now. Well...that sucks balls. Don't sell it. I was going to sell my R1, I'd had it advertised for 2 months, but offers are low these days...so I've decided to keep it, and do a round the country trip later in the year on it. Silver lining and all that..

my baby! Not unless I had another in mind to buy, that is ;) B_o_B...I have the trickle charger ready to go. And I took a deep breath, sucked it up and told my sis's partner he can take my bike out a couple of times just to maintain her for me. He's got a few of his own, I told him his prized possession is mine if anything happens to MY baby!

I know this is a big call but I'd rather ride than root. 36 000 kms in 24 months on the fat boy and still can't get enough. - Posted from rhpmobile

Been trail bike rider in my youth, spent many years into building quick street cars, only decided 4 years ago to grab a cheap work commuter. Bough a 2008 ninja 250, great learner bike, though very slow in straight line, found it very good on short tight runs. Stepped up to a 2006 Ninja 636, very quick bike for its size. As pictured with my lovely wife sitting on it in our profile picture. Was over wife slipping over top of me on hard braking, plus because I like and grew up on trail bikes and like the more upright feel of position, i cleaned swapped it for a 2011 FZ8N, which has full yoshi exhaust and power commander. Goes hard, lots low down torque, but not quick like the 636 ninja. So much more comfortable, less pressure on wrist and lower back. Would love a old knucklehead Harley in military trim or a retro version. Up for a cruise in Brisbane with other rhp members if someone wants to organise a cruise.

Yes you are correct, and looking at your profile looks like you know exactly how a great set of chest airbags feel pressed against you. Yes, also can't wait till the warmer months finding time to enjoy a ride.

You can post about your rides anytime. But only the two wheeled variety should be shared in this thread lol.

Now I'm back at uni as a mature student, I take my bike in every day. Free parking and plenty of spots. Beats $10/day and a half hr walk to class. And hell, it's just more fun than trying to navigate around the P platers in my landcruiser. - Posted from rhpmobile

Although mine was stolen (twice in one week!) a few months ago - bastards. Now I hope she is in vespa-heaven up in the sky? Will I get another one? I'll decide come summer. Too cold to be riding in Melbourne now anyway.

A Honda Blackbird a few years ago, amazing bike :-) I mellowed out a bit and decided it was too fast for me (then took up golf lol) so I sold it. I figured I was going to lose either my licence or my life on that beast! Such a great bike, but I think there's a Honda VTX1800 in my future somewhere :-)

Haven't seen any adventure bikes up there yet . Love my klr650, it won't win any races but we have been on some epic trips into some amazing out of the way places . Super reliable, and great go anywhere capability 👍 - Posted from rhpmobile

Won't win any races. Selling it a bit short there danger_mouse79. Every bike is built for a purpose and im sure your bike would win races in its intended purpose. My learner was a ninja 250, i went on a ride with my friend who had a 2011 z10, yes straight line, long bends, up steep inclines etc made my little slow 250ninja look like it was peddle powered. We ended up going for a ride up to Lammington National Park, very short narrow bush road with very tight hairpin turns etc. My friend struggled to keep pace, he was basically only able to use 1st gear majority of the time, getting up to speed then hard braking for each turn with the extra weight of the z10 was why he struggled. I just used 2nd and 3rd on the 250 being able to keep it in its sweet spot of rev range. I bought it as a cheap commuter and it was, but was so disappointed with how slow it was, so keen to get onto something bigger asap. Though after that ride to Lemmington National Park and seeing how good it was in that environment made me content for awhile, what prompted me to upgrade to bigger was how much the bike struggled with pavilion passenger. Your bike is perfect to go anywhere, great choice. I dare say theres no chance my FZ8N could keep up on a dirt road little than a dirt track, you'd win hands down. It'd be embarrassing and suicidal for me to even attempt to race you in that environment.

Ha ha , yep you're right PKDK69. The klr does manage to cross over a lot of categories . I even enjoy the commuter duties on work days, something to look forward to at the end of the day , and I can always imagine I'm about to head off to cape York or somewhere when the bike is sitting there with the panniers on the side... - Posted from rhpmobile

Yep, the old Virago was my first road bike. Before that we had an old xr200 with the twin shocks for a bit of riding on our property back then. After the virago a real road bike, well in the 250 stakes that is, was a Suzuki across. Loved the scream of that think at 16,000 rpm for a four stroke! The missus rode the Virago and I had the Across. Then a Boulevard C50 and now the 1200 sporty after a long break... hoping the missus might like the Sporty when it's time again for an upgrade, but that won't be for a while.
