Are you serious? I wish I could say something along the lines that maybe they were trying to be helpful and supportive howevertheir intentions somehow got lost in the translation. Mooka, you and I both know that we all have to find our own level wherever we decide to stay and play. Yet in the process, we also find ourselves rubbing shoulders with those we wouldn't ordinarily associate with...life in the online social game can get rough at times. You are playing the game by their rules from the sounds of things...(damn funny rules too) Lets hope that your post will set some perameters and the offenders will now cease and desist. Long live le donut!

Don't do it Mooks, only Johnny Cash fans dye their hair after 50 lol. I reckon anyone who would send you an email like that has to be a shallow and insecure basket case. It's a bit hard to look 35 at the age of 51 unless you have the cash flow of a Hollywood celebrity. As for you Trish.... any male who doesn't lust you is of dubious sexuality if you ask me, you have sex appeal by the truck load.

Mooka thats just not nice. How dare someone suggest that you need to change to be able to find someone. Hmm me wonders if they are hiding in your garden and checking out who does or does not go through your front door? How do they know whether you are successful or not? I have been known to send unsolicited mail to people re: forum posts but usually to quietly agree with something that strikes a chord within me or to take them up privately on a public offer. Is there any room for a donut munching nun in your monastry? Move on over I'm sneaking in through the window - we dont know who's watching your front door. Kisses Focus

Quoting mooka: And after the weekend, I now know I am rude and intolerant with a craving for donuts of all varieties lolFor a start, I ask the question, aren't we all intolerant sometimes? And for the sake of accuracy, 'intolerant reactions of a few people' was the term I used on the post I believe you are referring to. I did not aim it at anyone specifically. I was using the word intolerant as the opposite of tolerant and I can't say I was at all tolerant about it lol. Do you really think the premise of the post I'm talking about was tolerant? From The Free Dictionary; tol·er·ant (tlr-nt)adj.1. Inclined to tolerate the beliefs, practices, or traits of others; forbearing. See Synonyms at broad minded.2. Able to withstand or endure an adverse environmental condition: Re unsolicited advice: Another intolerant reaction I was unable to tolerate was being messaged privately and given the opinion of the sender along with the opinion of quote: 'quite a few messages' {private messages I might add :-)} the author had received from people who didn't want to post in the forums. I have apologised that I posted that message in the forum it was about... and later in the thread felt obliged to explain how we felt about having our privacy invaded by forum business. There has been a post along very similar lines of this one before and I think now as I thought then that it is not right to be messaging people privately with gratuitous advice, people have feelings... though I admit I have committed the sin of posting privately about the forums before.Unasked for I know hehe, but I've always thought you looked like great just the way you are.Cheers... Mrs P - I was singled out in that thread simply for speaking out like others did but they seemed to be immune from accusations. Yes I perpetrated that heinous crime of contacting you direct as I did not want a private discussion spread over the forum but rest assured I will NEVER contact you again! Now that is off my chest, I would like to thank everyone else who commented here, for a while I thought I was the only one receiving these e-mails and it was starting to do my head in - am i really that ugly lolRugged, you reminded me of an incident that happened a few years ago when I was still in the Military. One of my civilian staff came back after Christmas leave and his pure silver hair was now pure black. We all looked up and the entire section just yelled out "Elvis is back in the building" lol Of course it would have looked better (just) if he had tinted his eyebrows as well !

hehehe... I think... just as well you feel that way considering how often I post!!! Hugs... Mooka, I'm going to mention that sarcasm {I googled ORLY... oh really?... Really.} and exaggeration only confuses things further. 'Heinous crime' and 'invasion of privacy' are terms introduced by you and others... NOT ME!!! I introduced intolerant. I have to point out in my defence that it was you that singled me out on that thread with the heading on your post 'MY OPINION' to which I replied on the thread and it was after that you decided to message me. There was absolutely nothing that I thought was private in that message aside from the mention you made of others opinions that they shared privately with you. Did they know you were going to be using their communications to further your point with me?... I doubt it. The message was about a forum topic and included the opinions of other RHPers about the thread. I thought you sending the message was at the worst inappropriate though I did use the term 'invasion of privacy' in retaliation in my response on the other thread yesterday... please stop putting words in my mouth. I so much prefer to fill it with much more fun things... don't mind a couple of do-nuts now n then. A funny story I remember from my teen years is when I went for a job interview at an store that made those fresh cinnamon sugar do-nuts. While I was there they showed me how to make the do-nuts which started selling like hot cakes!!! I ended up staying there for several hours making batch after batch of do-nuts lol, never experienced anything like that again. Got the job of course... lol first thing every day, make a batch of do-nuts, had to test em as part of me job description hehe n the ice cream machine.I'm really sorry you can't see what I've been trying so hard to explain from my point of view. Please do not make any further innacurate references that refer to me if you don't want me to respond to them.Cheers... being me... Mrs P'

Ummm mooka... It has nothing to do with whether I like what you say in the forums but about my right to defend my reputation. People will of course choose to think what they will, so all I can do is present things from my point of view and know I have done my best. You can't expect to put vague references to which a decent amount of RHPers will know what you are referring without someone {me in theis case} wanting to clarify the truth from their point of view.I consider you saying I have my knickers in a knot to be another demeaning comment made just because I don't agree with you and want to make my pointThis thread is about Unsolicited advice... which is what I got. If you don't like my posts, you are more than welcome to report them to the RHP moderator. You were NOT quoting me direct as I've proved with my posts. I did not any time say I thought you or anyone else was intolerant, just attitudes. Please point out to me where I used 'heinous crime' in any of my posts since last Friday or that I said anyone was rude. I have already admitted to using one of the terms I mentioned today, in my defence after it was introduced on the other thread. In my opinion, your use of words is sensationalising the topic unnecessarily. Catchya again soon... Mrs P'<<< signing off for now but like the dead threads and ghost posts, I'll be back

When someone (other than a Life coach) takes it upon them self to tell you what you should or shouldnt do. I believe telling is quite different to asking or suggesting. eg...."Gee, your hair is grey, you should dye it." compared to " Have you ever thought about dying your hair? It would really bring out the color of your eyes" On a site full of borderline obsessive/compulsives.....chocolate, donuts, control freaks, sex, forum divas etc, there are times when we all need to take a good hard look at ourselves and realise that it is not allllll about ourself. (I do believe I have said this before) Everyone has an opinion, which thankfully is there own, many here need to realise when they have reached the precarious borderline of information, education and the constant airing of "my way is the only way" opinions becomes boring, sad, repetative, annoying and at times embaressingly funny. Time to grow up and act our ages, not our shoe sizes. (unless you own only Italian shoes ofcourse) intrigued & curious ~borrowing Miss BJ'S sign off.......just my opinion

My friend, I fully comprehend what you are saying and fully agree. I like having an opinion, I have worked damn hard to be in a position to have an opinion, and dammit, I will stick by my opinions lolAs for the grey hair bit, hell I am just happy I have hair! Anyway I consider it a bit of a badge of honour, much like my dashing, weathered handsome looks (who am I kinding lol). Considering some of the stupid things I have done in my youth, like hoisting down to an damaged yacht in a cyclone to bring up a family too stupid to heed weather warnings to volunteering to go places were you get shot at a lot, I think I have done damn well getting this old lolThe mad monk of St Dunkin'

Mooka I too have had unsolicited messages about "how ugly and fat I look" lol...and I have only just started in the forums recently. This was way before I discovered this lovely way of communicating your thoughts (Forums)...it always amazes me that people "pay" to just put someone down...At first it did hurt my feelings to the point I left the site for over 2 years...but then I noticed that it happened in other sites as well...People just have no life and what they say should be taken with a grain of salt...or sand...whichever is the smallest lol. Be yourself and be happy within yourself and don't let these jerks make you second guess yourself. xFunlovingx

I love the freedom of speech...even if it is the Tweed Heads Visitor Information Centre lady walking over to tell me last Friday "Dear, your bra is showing". I must have had a "please explain" look on my face because she then said "you don't want a man looking at that"...ROTFL....if I only she knew! But she made me smile...because the delightful Prude of the Tweed was simply doing what she thought was the right thing. I didn't take offence at what she said, but I have to say that I walked away feeling like a chastised teenager. And I think that was the issue...she made me feel like I was less than acceptable. And yet, I accepted what she said.... Funny old world this :) Jx

I can't believe someone would say that to you, if it was from someone you rejected or didn't read his flirt or message, well consider yourself fortunate that you dodged a bullet so to speak. It does hurt when you receive something like that, whilst the sender will often swear on a stack of bibles that they only had your best interests at heart, it is still a very low and demeaning thing to do to a person. The funny thing is, I am sure these people don't have functional mirrors most of the time, otherwise if they were that concerned with personal appearance they would be starting with themselves lol

Mooka, some ppl have very sad boring little lives that revolve around their keyboard. Their only enjoyment comes from trying to make others as miserable as themselves. Lol some are no oil painting themself. Repond to them with the following then cheerfully BLOCK them. "Thank you for your message. I am ecstatic that my profile and pic has intrigued you enough that you were compelled to message me. I think it only manners to respond likewise after viewing yours and offer the following suggestions of a frontal lobotomy, and an endoscope with a strong probabilty of a followup stickodictomy. I think after these procedures, you will be well on your way to getting a fun and fulfilling life." xx Miss Honey xx

That'll learn me for going straight out to the garden after work! Mate for what its worth i reckon you are one of the good guys on here, fair, quirky, have a brain, honest, and not afraid to state your case, i think any woman here would be lucky to make your aquaintance or more, but unfortunately so many are so shallow all they see is the outer package!Just roll with the punches, there is such a diverse range of personalities & intellects here that the odd collision is gunna happen. Be the better person, hold your head up high, never stoop down to a lesser level.Personally i think its just not worth getting steamed up about, easier said than done sometimes i know...but there it is!I have never had any of these appraisal/remedy emails though....lol....feeling unloved now...lol....no don't send them!Cheers Nev.......i got this damn italics thing going on too....?????????/

Oh never worked at 486 (showing ya age there, hey wait that is my era too lol)Nev, wow, naked gardening, what out for the stinging nettles and bindies lol Thanks, I try to keep things light and humourous, some people do take things oh so seriously hereTo all, thanks for making me smile today, I do apologise for the 'tennis match', was not my intention at all when I created the thread and got quite pissed off at the whole thing.Mooka, the mad monk of St Dunkin'

I think what starts in the Forums should continue on in the Forums only. If you have something to say which is so bad it cant be said in the Forums then should you be saying it at all?? And those who read the Forums but are too scared to reply there and instead send a private message should stop being so gutless. I too get over unwanted messages telling me I should not be on here!!!

i'm good at accounting I dont expect everyone else to be, my friend is a marketing manager but I haveno idea what she does, I work in the fashion industry and whilst I dont have any idea whats in fashion, I try and would gladly take advice from someone who does know. Soooo my point is why does it have to be negative that someone sent you some advice? What if the whole point of the message was that you have not realised your full potential and someone with some styling advice wanted to assist? I would gladly take advice from people if it meant my opportunites would multiply. Over time i turned my previous partner from something like Borat into something closer to a distinguished everyday richard gere lol ( slightly over the top but you get my point) I didnt love him any less at the beginning than i did in the end BUT I did see more of his potential than he did. And he will back me up that the calibre of women he dated after me as opposed to before was alot better. I guess you could always compare the advice to your success...do you get 100% success now with women you are attracted to, or do you think your chances may improve if changed some things.... who knows... I would think that anyones advice to me would be to lose weight ( and i would think this is good advice) BUT I get the hottest sexiest most fuckable guys on here and they come back for more and more... so maybe its performance and whats on the inside too.. As far as performance goes I would gladly take pointers on anything I could do to improve that too afterall we cant rate ourselves now can we.Your 50+ years old suck it up sunshine, stop crying in the corner and try to see the positives in your experiences rather than bitching about the negatives - seriously count your forum topics...most of them are negative :) thats my advice for you free of charge now let the good times roll

There is a gulf of difference between receiving advice in the work place and what I described. I know all about the workplace advice procedure, we call it mentoring in the military and was a very large part of my daily effort. It was all about imparting the knowledge I had garnered over the decades. I took that task seriously, to see someone newly enlisted or commissioned grown into a fully capable airman or officer always made me proud. As for changing your partner into what you wanted him to be, well that is between you two. But tell me, if he would have asked you to lose weight, become a blonde, cut your hair short, change your wardrobe etc, would have you?Of course I don't have a 100% success rate here, I seriously doubt any middle age man on this site (or any site for that matter) does? Yes, I am old (well according to you), but I don't think I am a serial whinger like you described. Far from it actually but naturally you are entitled to your opinion. Lets just say that others might disagree with you!The intent of this thread was not about receiving advice from people we know, people we consider friends. It was about people, totally unknown to the recipient, feeling they have the right to tell a total stranger that he or she have faults in their eyes. Surely that borders, well I my opinion, exceeds the bounds of common decency. Or are you of that thought that your opinion about someone is so right, so perfect for them that without even talking to them previously you just know you can make them a better person? I know this will come as a revelation to you, but I like me, I am damn proud of what I have done in life, and very happy with whom I am. To me, that is all that matters

The woman always want to change then man...and the man hopes the woman stays the same..after marriage..lolIt's not what we say, but how we say it...can mean the difference..with how with what is said is taken even if someone means well...but for a total stranger to pass a comment as such..wouldn't be kosher to me.Besides if people can't accept us the way we are and for who we are....we better off with out them,so i'm with MissBJ.....xoxoxmummakeep on smilling mooka

sorry I used work as an example it wasnt meant to be work related , all I was saying is that some people have more experience in certain areas than others and that advice can be good.I didnt change my partner , I saw that eh was far better looking than he realised and i gave him the right tools to enhance that..which is what I was suggesting this person may have been doing.IF my partner gave me advice I would listen because i resepct and value the opinions of others a because some may see what i dont.Whats that old saying about if you laugh a little its funny if you laugh alot there is some truth in it, if you dont find it funny at all then it must be so? friend or fo advice is still advice, its what we do with it that makes the difference :)

We recieved an email like that once, but it was'nt on quite such a personal level,it was regarding a forum post opinion,it was treated with the distain the content it deserved ....we had the respect and common decency not to post it in the forums and move on,there will always be miserable people trying to spread there misery provoked or in your case unprovoked . It is no wonder members are reluctant to post with the limelight seeking, self indulgent obsessive badgering amongst us,another reason why the WA forums are dormant ,when they use to flourish. brenbob68

I actually started this thread simply because I honestly thought I was the only one who received such wonderful, though provoking, intelligent, well thought out and above all sincere advice (can I take my tongue out of my cheeky now!). To be honest, I really don't care if they had my 'best intentions' at heart, it is akin to walking up to a total stranger on the street and telling him or her to improve - and not expect to be told where you may put that advice!Poon_hunter - shit this is nothing, no one is shooting at me with live ammo pmslKitten - wonderful post, I wonder if you will get a reply heheheBrenbob - Thank you, I can fully comprehend what you are saying. Unfortunately that is the nature of forums: some will live their life through them, some think they 'own' them and some thinks their opinions matter more than anyone elses. It always amuses me when someone can so vehmently state their own opinion yet fail to understand others may have differing opinions on the same subject and unfortunately those are the ones that will always resort to name calling and belittlement. But in reality that is part and parcel of the forums, if you become a regular poster in any forum you will experience all the above and learn to deal with it.Mooka

The most amusing part of what Mooka said is...that the women he kindly gave advice back to...responded with abuse!Talk about hypocrites!!...I'll tell you what I think is wrong with you....but how dare you tell me what YOU think is wrong with ME!...They obviously think there is NOTHING wrong with them! *cough*... BULLSHIT!... *cough*By all means....give strangers unsolicited advice...but don't be surprised if they come back at you with a hearty...FUCK OFF!!JMO...BJxxxOH...and Intrigued....use JMO all you like...after all....imitation is the sincerest form of flattery...unless it goes on way too long....then it just gets creepy. LMAO!!Have a good one!!

Your sign off..."JMO" was just the perfect line at the time. Dont know if I will need to use it again, I think most people now realise what I say is just that....my opinion. As it has said here before...opinions are like areholes, we all have one..... cheers, intrigued & curious

Miss BJ, yeah funny that, I honestly thought if they were so liberal with their advice, they would enjoy receiving some back - oh silly of me lolThanks for your comments and support, and your understanding of the situation.Mooka

I got an sms once from someone who had read my forum post asking how to improve my profile. It simply stated 'There's nothing wrong with your profile you are just very ugly'. I think I responded and asked who it was but expectably got no response. I also mentioned it on my forum post but no one owned up to it. So I don't even know if it was a woman or man making the comment. Now I'm pretty strong willed and it takes a bit to get on my nerve but things like that sometimes instill a little doubt. At the time it seemed no one would reply to messages (not that that has really changed) and nothing was really going my way. So despite everyone that has told me otherwise in the past you still think, could I really be that bad. I spose it was good that this year I have met half a dozen people from a free site as that has restored a bit of confidence, although still not finding the ones I want.wondering why my 3 forum responses from yesterday haven't been published in other threads

I just received a message from a guy saying that him and all his mates on here think i'm strange for being on here and on this sex site,..wth....they should read others profiles...I've put not meeting anyone new atm...and i stated to him that i don't care what they think..and that i didn't have to explain my reasons for doing so..and that it was no skin off my nose...lol....i'm going through a difficult time..and am getting over some other disappointmentso i wouldn't be in the best frame of mind..to meet anyone new..whats so strange aout that ?..blocked n deleted him...he's lucky that i didn't give him a real good telling offxoxoxmumma.

Loven, I know exactly what you mean. Although some that have posted here have fobbed off these types of messages and said that we should be grateful someone is trying to 'improve' us, it is still a low act by a coward isn't it. It does disturb me to think we have people on this site that think they have the right to send someone a message like that. It doesn't say a lot about their mental health does it!Mumma, you should have ripped him a new one. But it could have been worse if you think about it, the arsehole might have wanted to meet you. I do seriously doubt his claim of 'all of his mates' - idiots like that are normally solitary creatures that are too scared to actually meet someone face to face.mooka

I just thought that is was a very strange message to send...lol..where do people get off thinking that they can say what they like..with out thinking before they speak..they should engage brain before the mouth.Funny that, haha had thought the same thought..and like most...only want one-off's or quickies in the back seat..i have more self respect than they have in their little pinky..lolxoxoxmumma..been there done that...now to old for that..bad back...lol

You do what you feel is right for you. There is nothing wrong with a man or woman aging naturally the right person will like u as you are. Like you need those kind of emails. If they want to give advice perhaps they need to start an advice thread and if anyone wants their opinion on their looks or a problem we can go to that thread and anyone else that like to be a fashion style guru can go help out on giving advice...How fucking ignorant GRRRRRR!!!Like my eldest daughter says anything that glitters and shines is Cool. She reckon grey hair or white should be looked at as Sparkly Enjoy ur Bling let it SparkleBubbly xx

....is the bullshit line....."This is a sex site"NO...it isnt!! Its an ADULT dating site...for singles and swingers!!And for those of you that think swinging is about fucking....ITS NOT! Its about relationships...honesty...trust...respect...and communication.Dont put your manners down when you pick up the keyboard!Although it seems quite obvious to me that some of you have NONE...here or in the real world.Loven...ignore the haters....coz yanno....eventually...everyone will see THEIR ugly showing thru. And Fussy...ta honey...xxxJMO...BJxxx

Gawd I can't show my face in public now lol Oh BTW, that glint in my eye, nah just cataracts lmaoBright & Bubbly - well said, and yes I am proud of my grey hair. Shite if it works for Richard Gere why can't it work for me :DMiss BJ - you post should be made a sticky and every person made to read it before they can join. I have found those that quote the tired old line "It is just a sex site" normally follow up that statement with some whinge about being rejected or not getting laid here. Mooka - who has fully embraced his weathered 'good looks' and is totally comfortable with himself!!!

Hi MooksI'm with Ms BJ on this, ignore them. Honest to god, I shudder to think what these people have in between their ears and the place where a heart should sit. Shallow and not worthy of sharing breathable air with the rest of humanity me thinks. Mooks, just for the record, I think u are a hottie and ur donuts drive me crazy ... hehehe.
