Not a worry Elle. Love to watch a thread generate, shift and change and this one seems to have become lessons in English. As for pronunciations, like meaning of words they have also changed over the years. Time for someone to begin a thread on correct use of words and grammar . I do have a pet hate myself. That would be saying pacific in place of specific. I do not correct people when writing or talking I just use the word correctly and hope they pick up on it. Some people are very sensitive and touchy about these things.

of my turn offs have already been mentioned. Another one is guys who have pics of themselves giving the finger. Seriously, I've seen a few of them in my time here and it's SUCH a turn off . To make it worse you can often tell that they were half pissed at the time. Hot tip fellas - pics of you that were taken during a drunken escapade with the boys are probably not the ones you want to put up on here...

Pacific is a classic. One of the guys I work with is very blunt and consequently the type of guy who can take correction without taking offence. I hauled him up once about his use of pacific vs. specific, and now he uses the word every day in our production & safety meeting just to take the piss... cracks me up :) I've come to take it for granite (thanks Mea) lol. Perhaps it's just because of my interest in photography, but I am surprised by some of the photos that people have posted on their profiles. Very few of us could pass for super models, but some of these photos are beyond awful. Try taking shots from a few different angles, and pick the photos that look the most flattering. I don't want to see airbrushed glamour photos, but a little effort would be nice. Some of these people must have a pretty low self esteem to think that their photos genuinely represent what they look like. The camera can age you 20 years, and be really unflattering if you pick the wrong angle and lighting. - Posted from rhpmobile

I;m with you oh the height thing. If someone is more than 1 or 2 inches shorter than I am I pass. I mean at my age if I have to bend down, there's a distinct possibility that I won't be able to get up again. But apart from that, Grey ghosts, ask me, and template responses.

Short constructed paragraph with no information. Templates Short midgets in McDonalds uniforms- they scare me. And those who smell like cabbage.

Yes, there's been a profile on here for a long time of a guy who's a photographer. He explains in it (at length) how his ex used to model for him until she cheated and left him for another guy. I advised him to take that bit out over a year ago, but saw his profile a few weeks back and he hasn't changed a word. I'm rather dumbfounded, but maybe it works for him?

- no pictures- nothing filled out in the profile just "ask me"- the whole "Sydney University or any other institution" text in profile makes us think you believe EVERYTHING you read on the internet is true....and that's kinda sad- pet peeve "no time wasters" ....seriously what the hell does that mean? you just expect to send a flirt or a message and the next thing you know we're fucking? Come on folks, have some standards.- ALL CAPS- "no single men!! seriously we mean it!!! we're not joking!!! you'll be blocked!! Arrrgggh!!!" if they didn't read your profile in the first place, what make you think writing a big warning is going to get their attention? Just block the fuckers and move on. - all negative text: "we don't like this, we don't like that, No, no, no, no" ....seriously, we want to have fun and negative people just suck the soul out of everything. - using the standard text templates: "raunchy duo ready for sexy times, etc." Again, if you can't even be bothered to take some time to write your own text, you're probably shit in the sack.

...every time I see it pop up on a profile. I can't help but picture a big "Sucker!" label emblazoned across their profile pic! The same as when I see a Facebook friend...particularly when they really are a friend...share a photo of Bill Gates( or something similar ) offering to give away $10 000 to everyone who shares his pic. Template profiles are an instant turn off. How boring must the person be? Weird pulling of faces are a real turn off. Toilets and mess in the background. Female items such as toiletries, clothes and shoes visible in the photo (when a person in supposed to be unattached!). Profiles that state 'ask me' in their details. Why should we have to ask - doesn't that defeat the purpose of a profile. Just be honest, thorough and clear and you'll have people interested. But the only thing I'll add, which I don't think has been covered, is when there a dozens and dozens of photos - usually of the same thing, especially of genitals - they really don't have that many expressions. I was once sent a powerpoint presentation of cock pics, (different site), that didn't end well. Personally, I just like just a couple of taster / teaser pics, not a camera roll.
