What's going on???

June 03 2012

I've noticed a large number of ladies in their early 50s on the forums since I've been back....what's going on here?? Is it midlife crisis?? Is this something I have to look forward to in my 50s?? Suddenly single and no where to go but RHP forums?? ......personally I wouldn't care. But you all say the same boring stuff. If I didn't know any better I'd think it was one woman with numerous profiles.... Come on ladies....why are you converging to the forums all of a sudden??

nothing sexy or intellectual that's for sure... many other things thoughif everything is so boring then maybe take some of your own advice... and don't read them and don't comment.instead you start a thread about it... interesting to say the leastI've always admired your honesty roxxyrose, but your not very tactful at timesa good post from 50zcool above... a lot of newbie's do get attacked with their posts, especially when they don't fit into the grain of what is 'suppose' to be fun and not boring on these forums. Then their attacks are backed up by more thoughtless attacks from the friends, who back up their friends and so on... There's lots of new people on this site trying to find their niche, and have no idea what the forum's of old were like... including me.I think rolling out a welcome mat would be a better policy, or at least being more tolerant...Tolerance being an appropriate word considering the nature of this site.

I felt the same thing the first time i went into the chat room.Like any situation where you first walk into a room full of strangers, it takes a while to feel your way around. Not everyone in the room is a nice person. There are a lot of people with weird agendas on this site. So weed out what you don't need and keep the rest. Patience.

Thanks Ponderous Felonius. Very astute analysis; yes, shoe print made in a concrete path. It had filled with rain and made for an interesting pic.Possible readings between the lines: - making tracks - leaving an impression - walking in someone else's shoes/footprints can be enlightening < some might try it, some day ...>But like most art it can provoke other interpretations as a comment on life, the universe and RHP!Rox

Chipolatas - oh! boy! - they're bigger than Little Sausages - I was thinking of the small frankfurters, known by some as Little Boys. Drats and damnation - I've been knitting the wrong size cock-warmers as you weren't at home when I dropped by the Horse Stable the other day, to measure and fit. Must've been visualising someone else 'cos you don't have the standard profile pic that seems to inhabit some other RHP glam photos. Back to the drawing board. Knit one, purl one, ad infinitum. Rox

As a gourmand of some renown, the piccolo salami has become a consuming passio of mine. The art of appreciating a fine sausage is not something that can be hurried, or rushed and requires an accompanying glass of a delicious, suitably aged red. My habit is to first savour the texture by licking very slowly, before popping the whole in my mouth and swirling my tongue around the sausage and its' length. This process may take sometime and require many repititions, depending on the sausage. The sausage is actually left quite intact ,the object being to not harm or bruise the skin just to appreciate the size, texture and of course the complex flavours that have emerged over the years of its maturation. Should you be interested in indulging me in this pastime, please contact me at your leisure. x Hesione sausage sampler and gourmand

I am here to chat, throw an interest in a conversation. When I was 40 I had my head up my arse and my vision was impaired towards what was on offer for a beautiful woman such as myself. For myself ,I have had my midlife crisis, been there done that! Years ago the thought of having mutiple sexual parteners would be frowned upon and to think the person could be 50 plus! OMG YES you do have a lot to look forward to,LIFE! 1 thing I have learnt don't judge as you never know where life takes you! Do people over 50 need a RHP pass to join conversation in forums??? 50 and having fun,how good is that. Yes I have a life outside of the internet But f,,k I'm SEXY!!!!   K

Quoting '50zcool' Plenty of boring stuff on here without blaming the over 50's most of what they talk about is actually worth reading IMHO.Same can't be said for the tea ladies and forum junkies with nothing better to do than scratch and bitch.Seems to me there is quite a clique in the forums and the chat room that is very self protective and unwelcoming. Many new posts and posters are greeted with an attack from the establishment before some of the moderates step in. So don't expect newbies to inject fresh enthusiasm. The chatroom is a closed shop, regulars only- the cold shoulder. I really had to push and cajole to get the slightest response from anyone. (red text in capitals)So harp away all you like girlie you reap what you sow ! I only recently ventured into the chatrooms, and was welcomed by men and women both. I think it has to do with the approach as with anything, if you are an upbeat person who doesnt sweat the small stuff then people naturally gravitate towards you, a smile really is contagious!!!On the otherhand if you go in...'just waiting for the first person to ignore you' or expect a direct response when you havent even had time to show any personality, then you are going to draw the same crowd.Put out the good vibes, and they will come right back to you

50zcool I only went into the chat rooms for the first time a few weeks ago. And the few times I have gone in there people have been really welcoming, men and women. So okay maybe it's because I am a woman? To be honest all those people that keep going on about the "click" & people being unwelcoming to new comers etc, need to have a hard look at themselves. I think it's your perception of the world to be honest. It is obviously different to mine. I know when I first joined RHP there was an enormous amout of activity on the forums and most people knew each other. Or so it seemed to an outsider. Did that stop me from contributing. No... Did they shout me down. Of course not. I just don't get your comments at all. As DGT says.... It's HORSESHIT! Meeka

People with it get to banter on the forum so it looks like those people are friends or know each other. Unfortunately other people's posts appear later so I don't always get to see those, and if someone addresses a comment to me I don't always get to see it. :(

Quoting 'Hesione' I never knit...can warm you up though, have very warm hands, don't you remember?x Hugs H Trax, I've been trying to teach Hesione to knit but she just doesn't seem to get the rhythm: push the needle through the hole, wrap the yarn around the needle then pull the needle back out and keep the in-out-in-out rhythm going until it's all done. Not all 50-somethings seem to get the hang of it, even when I am snuggling up close behind her and have my arms around her and showing her, doggy style. She's terribly distracted, doesn't have her mind on it and is always rubbing her hands together to make sure that they are warm.Would you like me to drop by and measure you up for a cock-warmer as well, while I'm in the (WA) neighbourhood, visiting Heedless. I noticed that the weather has been atrocious there and the cock warmers will be quite necessary on these cold blustery winter days, especially since you seem to enjoy having your photos taken outside, judging by your profile portfolio.Rox

Hi AdventureTime   To answer your question.....no they don't. They are finally free from kids and ex's and have the time and freedom to be and do what they want when they want to do it. It's the most liberating time and one hell of a good time.   50 IS THE NEW 40 (apparently - I personally think it is better) My little black book bulging with deliciously hot and raunchy sex memories and "to do" lists. Loved every minute of my 40s and now my 50s are proving to be just as awesome.   You can look forward to using all the experience you have gained with a whole new outlook and it just keeps getting better.   Just because we choose who we share what we get up to with, doesn't necessarily mean we are at home knitting and bored. 50 is old(er) than 40... that's for certain. 50 is ancient compared to the life span of a butterfly, but insignificant compared to the age of a planet.   ... so i'm confused, what's the benchmark of oldness? or is it just one thing is older than another fuck, i've just aged 2 minutes writing that

Quoting 'MrsPeachyPear' Thought y'all might enjoy a little light reading, I like the first article that begins with, "Some words often tell us more about the mindset of the people who use them than about the things those words describe."http://www.jstor.org/discover/10.2307/4351641?uid=3737536&uid=2129&uid=2&uid=70&uid=4&sid=47699095261167 Not many people have access to JSTOR, Mrs P. I recently went on a dat with a woman in her 50's, absolutely awesome date! Dinner and hours and hours of uninhibited fun... Every woman I've met in her 50's know how to have fun and have been anything but boring.   Unfortunately this thread has changed my opinions, personal attacks, intolerance, spite and even a bit of cliquey behaviour... Not exactly the forums proudest moment.

I have on my coffee table, the Folio Society edition of Robert Graves' Greek Mtyths volumes one and two. I am hoping that this may be worth, at the very least, a partial dropping of suspenders. Yours in anticipation, Hesione of Troy

Mrs P and Hesione, would dressing in a toga and feeding you peeled grapes while someone strums merrily on a harp suffice? Maybe with a nice wine or four?Ruby B and Meeka, last week I was Charles, this week I'm Chasing Midnight? So vocal and accusatory in trying to locate and nominate who I am. The date of my geniture goes back long before they left, yet you're still trying to ablate me?*In answer to your question, a 28 year old who lived in Liverpool for a stint calls them trousers. I'm not talking south-west Sydney, either.N.D.*Latin puns. New low.

Nup Debs....you girls are hopeless....lol Charles hasn't got it in him.Charles sends me messages from time to time, seems to have adopted me for some reason.I think chucky has trouble expressing himself here, and I used to try and help him out, re attitude etc. When you talk to him for a while he's a pretty decent guy with some different ideas. If anyone could have sleuthed out who CM was my money would have been on you Deb.The clues are out there, dig deep and work your way up from there.Cheers Felonius

that Mr.Drift is the most recent reincarnation of the poet Ovid ,whose Arts Amores heavily influenced Eleanor of Acquitaine's Courts of Love and now he graces the Forums of RHP...in the guise of Chasing Midnight and Charlie .....clever Neptune, how fitting x Hugs Hesperides

Maybe its just that Neptune boy comes across as older than his years with his use of particular words that were frequently associated with CM. ??Maybe he is CM's younger brother- seperated at birth??Whatever guise he is under currently, quite frankly, I dont give a damn. (how many 2nd 3rd or 4th chances can one person expect?)Chucky just loves to send messages.

No, I never thought he was Charles.. Although I was suprised at the hostility that was shown to me hence my comment. Otherwise the odd comment that I have read has me thinking that N_D seems to be a much older person. And the pic is very Midnight too. Felionus you have me intrigued by that comment. Lol. I guess I don't read the forum much anymore to get a sense of what people like. I do miss the forums of old alot but I don't feel I have much in common with the regulars these days. Meeka
