I enjoy good cheeses, a glass of wine, sitting back chilling or just having a lounge room picnic. Now the cheeses and wines are easily found according to your particular taste, but the challenge for me was a good cracker, or something else to compliment the above. Ritz/Captains Table/ Rice crackers/Jatz............You get the picture....meh, and so yesterday BUT!! Yesterday i found the holy grail............ BONVALLIS....... Do your taste buds a favour Absolutely awesome, a taste sensation. I got the orange ones from WW Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with the above

My last day is 12 October, but in the meantime I've been seconded to work on a city based project, so my FIFO days are over :) Working in the city been a bit of a shock... I have to figure out what to wear every day instead of just chucking on the hi viz & steel caps, plus I have to prepare my own meals! I've been looking around a bit and have applied for a few jobs... I want to stay in risk management, but will go back to H&S if necessary. Not fussed if it's another FIFO role, as long as the roster is as good as the one that I've just come off. Would also love to change cities if the opportunity arises :) But I'd also like to travel for 3-4 weeks after I finish up... loosely planning a trip that will encompass Tasmania, Melbourne, Brisbane, Darwin and Kakadu.

So, to make things easier on yourself, did you consider just wearing the hi-viz and steelcaps to the job in the city. Would make life very easy for yourself, and at least everyone would know who you were. You don't necessarily have to make your own meals - in the city we have things called cafe's, fast-food places, and so on where you can actually buy food instead - saves on cooking time. 12 Oct will come 'round quick enough, so I hope you have good luck with trying to secure something else in the meanwhile. Do you have any preference as to where you might like to relocate ? Have you lived elsewhere is Aus before ? It probably would be quite nice if you get to do your traveling before settling into your next routine - always nice to see something new. I note you've missed out Sydney on your interests, but as that's between Melbourne and Brissy, it would be nice to see you in this neck of the woods too, if it so happens to pass. I hope that you find a great new place wherever it may be. Best wishes, Tall

Just read and saw an interview with Caitlyn Jenner that was on Ellen. Probably the most confusing and ironic things I have heard in ages. She isn't really in support of gay marriage. WTF someone asking for equality and acceptance and that is her stance. Fuck me

Trouble with scrolling through the eye candy is 1) It's too far away to contemplate indulging today and 2) It's making me more excited There's some really nice male bodies on rhp. Pardon me while I drool. I think it's a good time to walk the dog and expend some more of this energy .

Quoting 'Astrild' Anyone else think that Malcolm Turnbull has made his move too early? They were talking about that earlier on the TV. Apparently they have to make a vote on that during 'sitting' days. They only have this week to do so, otherwise the next sitting days are about 3 weeks after the WA by-election. Some think that will be too late - if the by-election goes against the Libs/Nats, then waiting for that time period is just running it too close before he next Fed election. Watching with interest.... Tall

Malcolm Turnbull has done nothing but under mine / leak and damage the government at every opportunity. even his speech today did everything to talk down economy under mine the country and our future.. and tout himself as our only chance of saving our self from his own badly run and faulty party... what a joke !! Bill Shorten finally said something today that made perfect sense [ only took him couple years] " malcolm Turnbull is a very intelligent man who is only interested in himself at the expense of all others including you........ bring back the old days when the government tried to do the best for the country not there own political future and back pocket... end of rant '

The application was to IMF/brazil bank for an indigenous facility. Public access to IMF is restricted now, after government's were being embarrassed by people looking. So who knows what we will lose by changing direction.Job sharing might be worth considering for the PM`s position, with the hope of continuity. Politics.....Have a great new PM day. So Malcolm Turncoat has replaced Smeagol, I mean Gollum, I mean Tony Crapott & Bill Shorton-sense is in a panic, because he may actually have to come up with some policies now in order to retain his 'preferred Prime Minister' status. Those are the names that I've heard the 3 stooges referred to over & over again today, in all forms of media. Can't say I disagree... after five PM's in 5 years, it's understandable that people are somewhat embarrassed and a bit pissed off with our political systems and its participants. While I absolutely detest Abbott, it remains to be seen whether Turnbull can deliver on his rhetoric, or if he will end up being a carbon copy of Rudd i.e. a self-centred, self-serving, egotistical narcissist. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now. As for the Labour Party... well, they (with a few exceptions) wouldn't look out of place in "Bad funny jokes" forum topic. Disillusioned much with Australian Politics? Me? Nah... well, not much lol. Anyone for a Banana (Republic)? Anyone?

Can't say I disagree... after five PM's in 5 years, it's understandable that people are somewhat embarrassed and a bit pissed off with our political systems and its participants. ( I was always cautious in the past of a combination of Abbott and Costello, which could have been a possibility at one time. Could you imagine the reaction we would have got from the Yanks, introducing them as our Prime Minister and Deputy ??) While I absolutely detest Abbott, it remains to be seen whether Turnbull can deliver on his rhetoric, or if he will end up being a carbon copy of Rudd i.e. a self-centred, self-serving, egotistical narcissist. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now. ( I think the biggest problem with both parties is that they have to have the consensus of all the members, and are mostly deprived of common sense decisions by having to please 'most of the people most of the time', with each their own agendas, rather than good policy. Will be interesting to see If Malcolm can move mountains). As for the Labour Party... well, they (with a few exceptions) wouldn't look out of place in "Bad funny jokes" forum topic. Disillusioned much with Australian Politics? Me? Nah... well, not much lol. Anyone for a Banana (Republic)? Anyone? More like Banana split ??Tall

I'm sure you're not alone in your views regarding Abbott, and to give credit where it's due, he was a highly effective opposition leader. Although it could be argued that Labour lost the last election, more so than the Coalition won it. My antipathy toward him is largely gender-biased... he offered nothing to women voters but the possibility of a return to the 'dark ages' with his mysoginistic outlook and opinions. A self-proclaimed 'Minister for Women', who did nothing for women is how I see him. Will Turnbull be any better for women? Who knows? Time will tell.

I will add to Tony Abbott's wrap sheet, when the wounder full lady said "please explain" and captured the country's attention, by daring to start a political party. Tony was the one that explained that she was racist and helped the party to be deregistered (Pauline Hanson, one nation for the youngsters). I think he got the shifty smile around then.On the other hand he made many (100's) changes to indigenous corporation legislation, one notable one is the ability to use land rights on a national basis as collateral for a national corporation, I expect his plans (never announced) in that regard will not continue. Julie Bishop I have high respect for, the best foreign minister for a long time.(sober is a good start) Great for the lady's and should shine better now under new management. I would love to see Julie as PM (maybe next year).I salute TA for attempting to help Indigenous, but I think that is an issue that was untenable for his party. I hope that the changes in legislation are used (and not reversed) and Indigenous maintain there right to nation build, that was the intent. Prior to the changes the only legal National reprehensive for indigenous, was the government. Yin and yang in colour, or the baddy's V baddy's, or coal is good for humanity, cheers Tony thx for the memories. Green energy will benefit from the change. I`m lost now, who do I support? Stuff it I`m getting a Banana Smoothie adding vodka an umbrella and flipping a coin to vote, if I remember to enrol.

When Abbot got defeated and made his last speech, he was all aghast as he was the prime minister that the people voted for. Sorry Tony, but this ain't the US - here we vote for parties, not presidents. As Stirry said, he is part of the party, and if the party decides to roll someone and put in a replacement, it is still the same party in control - just a different face to shovel the blame on. Tall

For me the thing that is the biggest problem in Australian politics is we use a two party preferred system. I do not get the opportunity to vote for the party/person I actually may want in leadership. They say we are a democratic society, well I tend to think it is a democratic dictatorship. We get to vote and that is the extent of our part in democracy.

Quoting 'Meander' The party may be the same, but Malcolm Turnbull is both a feminist and in favour of same sex marriage, unlike his predecessor. looks like he's already caving to the conservative factions by continuing to put off the same sex marriage vote. Apparently he's promised them not to stray from the status quo on social issues, and has signed an agreement with the Nationals not to try and put a price on carbon. None of which would surprise me, he has previous form in his gutting of the NBN and support for metadata retention both of which go against his supposed principles. I personally think it'll be pretty much the same shit with him, he'll just be able to get the masses to swallow it better than Abbott ever could.

Quoting 'xKiwiBredx' ... was run like a corporation & performance based, now that would be interesting. That would indeed be an interesting proposition, but unfortunately it would never be a viable option. I worked for a Commonwealth Government Department for 11 years, after having worked in various private companies for many years prior. I have seen first hand how Ministers can be hamstrung by personnel in their own departments, if those personnel do not want a particular path being followed. If you have ever watched the TV series Yes Minister / Yes Prime Minister, and ever laughed at the antics of Sir Humphrey and company about how they always manage to stymie the decisions made, it's time to cry, because it is not really too far removed from how things actually operate in Government. Ministers are at the mercy of those below them - not the other way round. And the thousands of staff in the various departments can make it pretty much impossible to find out where the lines of resistance are coming from, especially if a number of them collude to prevent information coming through. As per my earlier posting here, we don't work the same way as the States. We do vote for a particular representative, who is usually part of a party, and it is understood you are showing your preference for the party, not the person. In principle, the party with the most representatives is the one who gets to govern. Therefore the head of the party is chosen by the party, not the people. Very simplistic, but puts the point. Tall
